How to pause live TV and resume in another room as advertised?

Comcast claims in some of their X1  commercials that you can pause live TV and resume on another TV in another room.

What is the procedure for doing this? It seems when I pause a show on 1 TV and I go to another TV, I must tune to the same channel but it is the live show, not where I paused it. I know you can resume a DVR recording you exited from without finishing but how does one do this with Live TV?

You've seen that feature advertised? You cannot pause live TV in one room, and resume in another.

I wonder if they say pause a (show, recording or TV) in one room and resume in an another. If they are saying TV, I can see how that could be misleading. I searched online and couldn't find any ads that mention this.

The was on a TV commercial a while back. I had asked a rep on a tech support phone call and they said that it was possible though not on some live sports broadcasts. She did not say how to do it.

@mike_Z Hmmm... Seems like some people know something about it, but nothing! Funny, I cannot find anything anywhere on their site or the internet about this feature. Some say it might work with certain programs and not others, or not with sports seems a bit strange. Why would that matter?

You might need more recent equipment from Xfinity for this feature to work. As I understand, when you pause live TV, it's recording to the DVR. To resume, your other TV/box would need access to that devices recording to resume playback.

Hopefully someone from Xfinity can shed some light on this.

Hey @DreamSayerZ @mike_Z, Thank you for reaching out to Xfinity support on our forums. That is a great question! I use it quite a bit and can explain. When you pause the live show and switch, it will be at the live point but you will see the blue progress bar goes back. You would need to rewind to the point you were at but that time frame is saved. There are also the jump back, live, and next buttons to help navigate. Our website here, shows them and pictures of it in action. For On Demand content, you can always resume were you were at on any of the devices using the recently watched section.

Did you check the menu for options screen?  It should be found in the same section a unfinished movie would be found.

If it is not there, then some live shows may not allow it.

I could not find an options screen, only 'Saved'.  Though on the subject of recorders, this PX013ANM which has a hard drive like my old Motorola non cloud/non X1 DVR had, it always shows '0% Full' even though it currently has 27 shows. I've been not deleting them waiting for the counter to show more than 0.

After pausing the live show, did you check the other cable box to see if there was anything saved under the Recordings tab on the Xfinity menu?

I checked Recordings on the other cable box and the show I paused was not there. Also, tuning to the same paused channel, there was no blue bar to rewind past when I turned on the 2nd TV. (X1 Cable boxes are always so you are really just turning on the TV. Even pressing the power button on the top of then non dvr boxes just shuts off the annoying blue light, not the box).  I have a XG1v1 PX022ANM DVR and XG2v2-P non-dvr boxes if that makes a difference.

Why does my DVR show'0% Full' all the time even when is has many recordings on it?????
