Hbomax

HBO max will not play movies. I open the app, select what I want to watch, hit play, then it takes me back to the Home Screen. Very frustrating and can’t get any help from customer service.

I’m having the same issue.  My primary 4K dvr won’t play movies on hbomax but works on my xid’s in bedroom.
I’m a technician and I’m leaning towards it being a firmware issue with 4K dvr.

Is there an update or some kind of fix?

I am having the same problem as of last night. I do not have 4K DVR.  Also, prior to this happening, it made me sign in all over again.

I fixed mine. I went into my account in the HBO MAX APP, signed out, and signed back in. It is working now.

Hello, @user_09693f! Thanks for reaching out to us through our Communities forum for support on your app! I love HBO MAX and think it’s well worth the cost just for the new movies that you can watch before they are in theaters. I want you to be able to enjoy this app as well and I am happy to help. I see others have had success in signing out and back in through the app. Have you tried this step as well?

This happened to me - Try opening hbo/max app, choose movie, but do not click on play -

I just waited and the movie started after a few seconds.

I am having the same issue. A few days ago I could watch HBOMAX content on my TV no problem but now when I select play it takes me back to the HBOMAX home page. When I try and do the same thing on my computer the content launch just fine.

What do I have to do to fix this?

I did what another user told me and it worked perfect. From the app log out then log back in.

I just log out from app and logged back in. It worked.  The question I have is why does xfinity tech support does not give this solution. I spent 2hra with a guy doing all of this diagnosis and resets… a waste of both of our time, and the solution was on this forum.
