Guide data missing

Why is there a notice that states guide data missing when trying to use the TV Remote app.? It’s always worked before just recently has stopped working. Why is this? And when will it be fixed? Very frustrating.

Please see https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/xfinity-tv-remote-app-help, which says "The Xfinity TV Remote app is retired".

Thank you for the assist @BruceW! The Xfinity TV Remote App has been retired and no longer able to be used. We do recommend using the alternative methods provided within our 'Information about the Xfinity TV Remote app' support page @user_kq5xvj.

The main question that everyone wants an answer to is WHY?

Given the amount of money we are charged, I think every customer that used this app deserves and demands an answer on why it was removed.
We are tired of hearing “oh just use this” which has nowhere near the functionality. We want to know WHY it was removed.
if you don’t have a legitimate answer, then either reinstate it, or lower are monthly bill.

We do not have specifics on the removal of the app. However, I will make sure your feedback is submitted regarding the app as we want to ensure you have the services you enjoy using with Xfinity. If there is anything else we can assist you with, we would be happy to help!
