Connecting TV Box to Gateway

Hello, I recently purchased a gateway modem and cable box from Xfinity. I have my gateway coax cable plugged into the wall and my internet is working. I am connecting my modem to my cable box via the Ethernet cord, however I am not getting signal for my cable. Is this a faulty Ethernet cable? What could I be doing wrong?

Thanks!

@user_1951f5,

Welcome to the Xfinity Forum and thank you for posting your questions here. To receive television service through any of our Xfinity X1 TV boxes all you need is access to an active power outlet, a working coax and/or HDMI cable and an active coax outlet. Our Xfinity X1 television boxes cannot receive our television service through ethernet, the only active input is the coax input. If you would like to share some additional information about the Xfinity X1 television box model is we can share with you the full instructions on how to properly install the box to get your full channel lineup. In the mean time, this video may help with getting you started.

Please let us know if you have any other questions or need anything else.
