CHANGE IN ABILITY TO RECORD FROM DVR
I am filing a formal complaint about Xfinity removing the ability to record a channel for a specified period of time. This feature was part of the DVR functionality I have been paying for, and I believe removing it significantly reduces the usefulness of my television service. I want an explanation for why this feature was removed and whether Xfinity intends to restore it. If not I want a reduction to my bill.

Once again, this issue is remaining confusing and frustrating. I created this other thread over 10 days ago asking about the same issue.
Multiple Xfinity employees on here keep saying the manual recording is taken away and not coming back, while other multiple Xfinity employees in the other thread keep stating “that is not correct, it is an ongoing issue that our engineers are working on because it’s an open ticket, and it is still coming back.”
I ask once again for about the fifth time, which story is true? And why is there so much difficulty getting different answers from different employees on here?

Just used this manual record feature 2 or 3 weeks ago, to record a weather- postponed sport event. Now, this weekend 8/29, there was another weather postponement to tomorrow, and manual recording is showing not available. I've used it for decades- I hope it is still an open-ticket for future renewal, and not being dropped.

We just had two weeks of daily interruptions of service for so called updates and this is what we get, you take away the ability to dvr shows for a certain amount of time! Unacceptable! Thirty seven year customer but no more.

I wish to join the chorus of customers EXTREMELY unhappy with the removal of this capability. The suggestion that single-program and series recording being an acceptable substitute ignores the underlying premise that Xfinity's schedule is reliably and continuously updated. THE SCHEDULE IS NOT RELIABLE NOR UPDATED IN REAL TIME. So things like weather delays of sporting events or sporting events lasting longer than anticipated (ever hear of "overtime" or "extra innings"?) makes recording solely by use of the Guide a fool's errand.
Please reinstate this functionality. Immediately. Or expect further defections to other providers and/or streaming services, leaving Xfinity as just an internet service provider. At best.

How absolutely absurd that they removed this feature and that they don’t even educate their CSRs on the matter. I had a replacement x1 box shipped to me because I thought mine was broken and no CSR had any idea why it wasn’t working. I can’t stay with xfinity any longer.
On to directv or dish.

I want to agree with others here that the removal of this feature is unacceptable. Today's NASCAR race was postponed due to weather and the guide has not been updated to reflect the new time tomorrow so the race likely won't be recorded. Why it was necessary to delete an option that has been commonly available since the VCR days is beyond me. I miss my TiVo.
