Are you still watching?

AS of last week, "Are you still Watching" will pop up on my screen and if I don't respond will turn live TV into the screensaver.  I've never touched my screensaver settings, which are set to 5 minutes and is only supposed to come on when I'm in menu or when I pause live TV.  But this is happening when I have live TV on and haven't touched anything after 5 hours.  This never used to happen and I need it to stop because it's ruining my non-Xfinity DVR recordings.

Why not change it to 5 hours?

Because the time it goes to screen saver when I'm in the menu doesn't matter to me.   It shouldn't be going to screen saver when I'm not in the menu. It's set to 5 minutes, as a default, and it's not going to screen saver during live TV after 5 minutes.  It's going there after 5 hours.  How is setting that to 5 hours going to make it stop going to saver after 5 hours of live TV?  This only started last week after years of no problem.

My answer to this is "AM I STILL PAYING?????" MOST annoying. Need the option to turn this off. Completely off.

This is an epic fail with Xfinity. Mine is set to the max 5 hours. But it should never happen when my TV is on live TV. As long as I'm still paying...you have no business intruding on my viewing experience!!

Are you watching tv with a new tv?

This should be a function of the new to tv to keep screen from paxal burn in problems. Check the television menus with the tv remote.

No, and that does not make sense. This is an Xfinity pop up (not our TV)...and it appears on live tv...which isn't a static screen, so would not cause burn in. We have changed the setting to 5 hours....but it's annoying and unnecessary. If we do not catch the pop up in time, it switches us to the screen saver....in the middle of our program. Xfinity should not turn off our cable box unless we didn't pay the bill.

There are actually posts going clear back to 2015 complaining about this intrusive feature. https://forums.xfinity.com/t5/X1/TV-Screen-goes-to-the-Screen-Saver-for-no-reason/td-p/2930527
Again, Xfinity should NOT be turning off my cable box unless I didn't pay the bill. In the era of binge watching, or like this weekend with 3 football games....this is ridiculous overreach.

I have had cable since 1972. I have never seen a popup like that show up on my television.

This actually stopped by itself shortly after I posted this thread.  Maybe Xfinity went into my account and fixed it, I don't know.  I never called it in.  But it's clearly a glitch that shouldn't be happening.
