4K Box Voltage Causing HDMI Handshake Issues with my Surround Sound Processor

Greetings,

I am having trouble losing picture and sound from X1 box (XG1v4-A) in my home theater. While watching TV using my home theater and Marantz surround sound system/process, approximately 2-6 times per hour, the picture and sound randomly cut out and take about 25 seconds to fully return. This only happens when watching TV. It never happens when using the Firestick, Roku, Blue Ray devices.

I have replaced all cables, tightened all connects, and restarted all components. This problem has been going on for 4-5 months. I have consulted with my theater installer and Marantz service and all of my equipment appears to check out normally. The issue appears to be a problem with my XG1v4-A box.

In searching for a solution, I came across a post in this forum from November 2022 with a user describing an identical issue. However, no resolution was posted. That similar post can be found here: https://forums.xfinity.com/conversations/x1/4k-box-voltage-causing-hdmi-handshake-issues-with-my-surround-sound-processor/636bc6beb5284b6592daaa54

I strongly suspect this poster is having the same problem I have.

So I am posting to seek solutions and to determine if it is a problem with all XG1v4-A boxes or just mine.

Thank you!

Hello @user_2dc2b3 we apologize for the issues you've encountered with the 4K box picture. Are you receiving a XRE error code when the picture leaves?

Hi! No. There is no error message. The picture signal is lost (I see "No Input" on my screen). Sound cuts out as well.

Hmmm.  Is this a HDMI a/v connection?  If so, are you able to check the connection at the back of the TV as well as the box?  I know that if the connection isn't fully secured, it can cause this type of issue.
