Xfinity RNG150N Set Top

I can't get into the RNG150N's setup menu as described in the User Guide on Pg.12.

I'd like to override the HDMI Audio setting for Dolby.

Does anybody know how to get into the General settings menu?

It's not the same as the onscreen menu that you get by pressing the "menu" botton on the Xfinity remote.

Thanks.

That box is over 10 years old. Get an X1 box ASAP. Shouldn’t be any price difference.

You’re using an interface developed in the 90s.

The problem is this is the only box left for people like me who use another source for Internet then Comcast. And the box currently is not even getting whay we are paying for on traditional cable. We don't require Comcast for 8K, 4K, or even 1080p, programing on streaming video.

MNtundraRET, Please expand on your response.

I have my own cable modem (Moto SurfBoard) connected to the cable > Netgear WiFi router for internal internet. I understand that the X1 boxes need an internet connection for either On Demand or the channel guide. I think I should be OK just picking that upoff the router.

My TV is an 8 year old Samsung NOT Smart TV. The TV manual makes reference to it having Dolby of some kind on it, but it's always grayed out in the setup menu. I'm thinking that the Cisco RNG 150 needs to be sending out just stereo, or that the TV just doen't recognize what the Cisco is putting out.

Tha's why I wanted to access the real setup menu in the Cisco, to see if i can make it put out JUST stereo.

What do you think?

PS- Yeah, I'm going to get an X1 box after the new year 🙂
