A TV will do that. Sometimes they run for a while, heat up, then shutoff. Most of the time, it's power supply related, but the TV may have given up the ghost.
If it's a 'smart tv', look for the model number sticker and try to find a manual, or look at the panel with a bunch of connectors on it. Sometimes, there's a toothpick hole and factory default reset button on them. The manual will tell you. Hold that button in for several seconds. Firmware gets stuck sometimes too.

Did you try turning the tv on with its own remote? If it does not turn on the problem is the television.
