Sony dvd player connection to netflix must be restarted everyday.

Why does the connection fail and require reboot every day?

It is a wired connection to the router.

Is this device connected over WiFi or ethernet? How often does it disconnect?

ethernet wire.

disconnects only after 1 or 2 hours of non=use.
