No HDMI port on my TV

I'm trying to connect my Xfinity TV box to my TV so I can activate my new service. My TV does not have an HDMI port. How can I connect them?

We'd need to know the model numbers of the Xfinity box and the TV set before we could help you.

In general, from best to worse:

HD video:

  • HDMI cable
  • Component video cables plus L&R audio cables

SD video:

  • S-Video cable (uncommon) plus L&R audio cables
  • Composite video cable plus L&R audio cables
  • Coax with F connectors RF audio/video cable

Edit: added S-Video as suggested by "billmich"

I think some of the ancient DCT boxes may have had one.

Hello, @user_680d63!

I'm glad you chose to reach out to us here on the Xfinity Forums for help with your new cable box.

I just wanted to check in quickly with you and see if you were able to get this connection figured out with the help of the community or if you could still use a hand?

Some boxes have a coax out which can be connected to the coax input on your TV.

I tried that. When I turned the power on a message on the TV screen asked "Do you want to continue using voice commands?" First of all, I wasn't even.using voice commands.. Second, the remote wouldn't allow me to choose "Yes" or "No."  That's as far as I could go. So still no cable service.

The remote will still respond to some commands.  Try pressing the mic button and saying 'Yes" or 'No'.  If you get stuck, press the mic button and say 'exit'.
