Cable box powers off when turn on tv

I got a new Samsung tv and have comcast xfinity box connected to HDMI 1.  When I turn on the tv, the cable box powers off.  I didn't have this problem with my old tv.  Is there some type of setting to correct this?

Which remote do you have? Are you sure the tv is off or just sleeping?

I have a Samsung Q70 tv, using the default remote that came with the tv.  When I press the power button on the tv remote, the tv screen turns on and the power on the comcast cable box turns off.  Not sure what's happening? And not sure of difference between tv off and sleeping?

Until you get used to using your new "smart tv"; I would suggest you refrain from using the Comcast remote to turn both on. Follow the Samsung directions for setting up the cable and television. Use the cable remote to turn on the cable box first. Then use the television's remote to turn on the television.
