GMailify with Comcast Email - Not Working - Authentication issue
Using GMailify with my Gmail account to use my Comcast email address has stopped working. It is returning an authentication error, 535.
I have changed my password and verified everything else. I am able to send from GMail through Comcast, but cannot receive due to authentication issue.

I see many people are having this problem. Is there any effort on Xfinity's part to address this? My Gmailify quit working recently after many years with no problems. I was finally able to connect using POP3 protocol, but now I randomly get an "Authentication error ... Temporarily blacklisted IP address" notification. Checking my comcast.net email via a third party email client has become very unreliable. Xfinity needs to seriously address and fix this problem ASAP!

I have just turned off multi-factor authentication (MFA), which Xfinity calls Two-step Verification (2SV), to my Xfinity account. I am now able to re-establish my Gmailify connection. Obviously this is a Xfinity (Comcast) problem that needs attention. However, until they get their act together, if ever, this work around seems to work.

I am also having the same issue. Comcast will not link with Gmail "Gmailify" (username and password don't match) although other email accounts (outlook and windows mail) do link and function as intended. I tried turning off two-step Verification (2SV) but this made no difference.

Hey Comcast, are you ever going to fix this issue?
I have changed my password and have disabled 2SV.
I have tried with several browsers and still run into the issue on my PC and several Android devices running the GMail app.
I am able to log into the Comcast site and get my email, so the password works.
When are you going to help us with a fix here?

Hello -- having the same issue. It will work very sporadically and then stop. So I know that my password is right etc. Worked no problem for years, now stopped since around November 2024. Any help would be appreciated. R

One more user with the same problem: Gmail cannot reliably connect to my xfinity email account using the gmailify option. It has been working properly for over a year.
- The problem started with gmail failing to be able to sync with xfinity intermittently for the last several days. Following advice above, i reentered the xfinity email address and password and was told that they don't match after gmail tried to connect.
- I continued by confirming that xfinity's 3rd party access option was checked. It was already checked.
- Next step was to delete the link in gmail to the xfinity account and try entering it again. That worked on the 3rd or 4th try. After a few minutes gmail reported that it was no longer able to sync with the xfinity account.
- I changed the password on my xfinity account, logged out and logged back in again. I confirmed that 3rd party access was still set in my xfinity email settings. I then added this account to gmail's remote access using the 'gmailify' option. It was reported that the user name and password didn't match on the first try but succeeded on the 3rd.
- Gmail is currently unable to sync with xfinity. When I send an email to xfinity I can see it in xfinity's web browser interface but it is not showing up in Gmail.
Please find a way to help all of us folks that are not able to reliably access our xfinity email!

I have this issue as well. I've been using Gmail to access my comcast.net email for years and this authentication issue just started out of the blue several months ago and the workarounds of resetting password and disabling 2fa does not help. Comcast can you please fix this issue?

It is obvious that Xfinity does not want their customers to use Gmail as their primary mail client. Because it is very difficult to change all my email contacts, I surrenderer and will use two separate e-mail clients as I gradually change all my Xfinity email contacts over to Gmail. Thank you very much comcast.

Same issue here. I also thought it was MFA, but after turning it off, no difference. I've had Gmailify connected with my Comcast email for years, and it worked great. The past couple of months, it has been very spotty, with it giving me an authentication error for days at a time. Says username and password don't match. Then, suddenly, it would work. Once. Then, back to days in between. I spent an hour on the phone with a Comcast agent today who talked me through all of the reset-password-remove-account-reboot stuff, even though it's happening on every device I own. I've been with Comcast for ages, but I'm starting to look at a local provider for fiber because all I need is 1) internet access and 2) this email address to work, so we're currently at only 50% satisfaction.

only solution is to switch over every single account you've ever created your entire life that uses your xfinity email to literally anything else... I can't believe how agonizing using the xfinity interface in 2025 is
