Deleting emails everyday and emptying trash happening for a couple of years already. But emails keeps coming back. So frustrating and annoying. I thought of switching to another network now. Too much wasted time.

Are you using a desktop email client like Thunderbird or Outlook?  Or maybe a mail app on a mobile device?  If so, disable the account in that client, then try deleting emails using only the webmail interface and your browser.

Same issue.  Started around 8/26.  Have deleted these damn emails dozens of times and they keep coming back, along with random drafts too.  I can't even compose an email sometimes without it just shutting me off and popping some message about cannot send this email saved to draft or whatever mid sentence.

I will watch my inbox number change like a slot machine sometimes--what the heck?

I use iPhone, Safari on MacBook at home and Mozilla on desktop at work.

Have tried deleting on each browser/device and they still keep coming back

Thank you for reaching out to us @user_961e16! That’s a lot of emails to have to delete multiple times! Are you using a third party app like Outlook, Gmail, MacMail, etc. to access your email? Does this happen when deleting the emails through our Connect Site?

Hello user_rwlu0r, I can see how this email issue would get pretty annoying to deal with. I'm pretty on top of my emails and keep it organized, so those returning emails would definitely bother me. I do see that you sent over a DM, but I'd like to get on the same page real quick before we pivot to that conversation. Are you accessing or managing your emails on the Xfinity Connect website? Also, have you tried any troubleshooting steps or reviewed your email settings/preferences? That way we avoid any repeat steps. As a friendly reminder for next time, please hold off on sending a DM until being requested by an official employee. Sending an unsolicited DM is a violation of our Forum Guidelines.

Same issue here. Happens randomly — not every day, although...the last 3-4 days consistently, which made me search for this Support discussion; comes and goes like WAVES sometimes, like there are leaks in the server. Couple HUNDRED copies of a deleted email build up sometimes.

(NOTE: Comcast has stopped providing email accounts with new Internet service — they don't DO that anymore. A rep recently told me they "never thought of themselves as an email provider," even though that is now a decades-long reality of their service. My FEAR is that — support and staffing and focus-wise — they are gradually abandoning email support altogether).

To the Comcast team: Since so many of us are having this issue, it seems very DISINGENUOUS to ask any one of us to provide our account information and/or what platform are we on, or what application are we using, etc. This is clearly a Comcast (server level) issue, and we're sure you're aware of it. What would be helpful is to learn more about what you are doing to fix this issue at the mothership level and how fast that might take place. Us tweaking our local settings isn't going to do [Edited: "Language"] and — like deleting deleted emails over and over again — is a waste of our time.

Thank you.

NotHerbert - Thank you for your feedback. Does this occur when using Xfinity Connect?

Having the same issue here.  Deleting from the online comcast site, but give it a few minutes and they pop back up.

Took me at least a dozen phone calls, finally getting up to level 3 or 4 of Comcast CSA (this is where you need to be), and after sending them numerous videos of the silly sh!t happening they seem to have it fixed this week.  My issue started 8/23 so 3 months.  It would get better for a few days here and there and then come back with a vengeance.  My inbox was like watching a slot machine sometimes.  And then trying to compose an email would cut me off immediately and go to draft--would have to try and send several times before would go.  Then all these zombie drafts would show up from days past as well.

Anway--call support and get to CSA however you can

user_50243c - We very much appricate you reaching out and reporting the issue you're having. To be sure, are you deleting the emails via Xfinity Connect? Or, are you using another 3rd party client to access your emails and noticing the deleted emails returning?

I believe I was deleting through Xfinity Connect. The issue seems better now. However, I decided to switch my main emails to another service because of this issue and hope to not have to use Comcast anymore except for a few strays. It is a real pain to do this, but will be happier in the long run.

Thank you for sharing your update. I’m glad to hear the issue seems to have improved, though I completely understand your decision to transition to another email service. It’s never easy to make a switch like this, especially with the time and effort involved, but your satisfaction and peace of mind are what matter most.

If there’s anything we can do to make the transition smoother or assist with those remaining emails, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We appreciate the time you’ve spent with us and wish you all the best with your new setup. Thank you again for sharing your experience!

You keep asking if the emails are deleted through Xfinity Connect. It is obvious that the answer is NO, wake up.

we should be able to use any email we want on any platform. Quit the run around and fix it already! This has been going on for years, windows an d Mac computers.

Same problem here. I empty my trash at least 4 times a day. This morning, I emptied the trash and an hour later it showed  deleted mail form 4 days ago, along with ones that I deleted this morning.

These also how up in Comcast connect,  and on my phone, so it has nothing to do with my email client.

Comcast seems to blame everything but themselves!

Get the emails servers repaired.

Hey there, @cihilb! Thank you so much for taking the time to reach out to us here on the Xfinity Forums. I am sorry to hear about the experience with the deleted emails coming back into your mailbox. I know you mentioned using your phone too, can you delete the email box from the 3rd party mail client and then add it back into the client to sync it back together? Please let us know if that helps with the emails coming back.
