Comcast email stopped working- IP blacklisted

My email won’t work on apple email on my iphone 17 with latest ios update. Keeps asking for a password, won’t work on wifi, sometimes loads on data. But when the password is entered, it says IP temporarily blacklisted. This happened before with no resolution and I was asked to send to their security team toun-blacklist and they said my IP isn’t on the blacklist. I’ve ensured the third party thing is ticked. Deleted the email from my apple email and re-adde, and turned the phone back off and on again. I can access email through login at xfinity connect on safari, so I know the password is correct. This has been going on for months now, really unhappy. Can you please have tech investigate ASAP.

Hi, just FYI I had similar issues and after weeks of back and forth with various techs at Xfinity, I was told that the IP blacklist issue has to do with the Yahoo transition and back end security. My issue moved up to 3 levels of Xfinities tech hierarchy then it finally got resolved.

It seems they needed more testing with either non-Xfinity in house modems (that generate IP addresses, I have ATT) or with clients who use Apple devices to read their e-mails.

I myself am leary of moving to Yahoo in fear of the issue popping up again. Watching the post.

What keywords did you use to get level 3 support to remove the block? The people I've talked to don't have a clue what I'm talking about and have basically told me I can only check email from the website. Never had to do this before.

user_k8u8k8 Hello and thank you for reaching out via our Xfinity Community Forums, I am so sorry you have been dealing with this for months; I can completely understand why you’re feeling frustrated, especially since you've already put in so much effort to fix it yourself. It sounds like you’ve done a fantastic job troubleshooting by checking the third-party access settings and re-adding the account—that certainly rules out the basics. Since you can log in through Safari but the Apple Mail app is flagging a "blacklisted IP," it suggests a specific communication conflict between your network and the mail server. Because this involves an IP block specifically affecting your mail client, the best course of action would be to report this directly to our Customer Security Assurance team. They have the specialized tools to investigate these security flags and clear the connection for you. You can contact them and file a report by following this link:

https://internetsecurity.xfinity.com/help/report-abuse/ Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns after reaching out to them. Our team is here to help 7 days a week.

I have tried to report via the link you provided. There is no dropdown option for email IP un-blocks for receiving mail. There is only the option if there is a block when sending mail via the online form. Is there another way to report this issue or send a request to this team?

user_k8u8k8 No this is the best way to reach our CSA team. Are you running into the same issue with accessing your email when you log into your account at Xfinity.com?

No the issue only occurs on apple mail. So if I report to the CSA team which dropdown should I choose? I’m not struggling to send email to the comcast email, just receiving my own personal email.

On that website @user_k8u8k8, you would select postmaster, and then scroll down until you see the option that says How to get my IP block removed.

Comcast has blocked access to the email servers from internet connections that are not comcast. They did it to me too. Every device in our house no longer can connect to email using any 3rd party applications on computers or mobile devices. IP blacklisted is the pop-up on apple mail. The only way to do it is to go to the xfinity website to check email or to switch off WiFi and use cellular data on the mobile devices that have a data plan. Why comcast did this I have no idea. Absolutely insane on their part and stupid. I can only guess they have some clown running the show in their security department who thought this would be a good idea.
