Comcast email disappears upon opening

Doesn’t matter which device I use. I log in to my Comcast email account, click on first email in the Inbox and it disappears before I can read it.  Then I have to use the search box to try and find it. This takes up too much time. I have tried all of the Troubleshooting but nothing helps

Hi, @qbp, I'm sorry that you've been having this issue with your emails disappearing. I'm always checking my inbox, so I can see how frustrating that would get. Let's work together to find a fix on this. Are you using the Xfinity Connect website to view your emails? If not, you can use this awesome overview link to learn more about the website and access it. I love how Xfinity is always creating helpful guides like this to show our customers the convenience of all these self-service options.

I am having the same problem -- I read an email, sometimes respond to it, sometimes not -- and then it disappears.  Right before my eyes -- and it doesn't go to spam or trash or any other folder that I can see.   Sometimes I don't even get a chance to read it.

Since I installed the 12.6 Monterey update, my mail is disappearing from my inbox, sometimes while I'm reading it.

Hello @user_bf3a55! Are you experiencing this issue on a third party app, or the Xfinity website and app?

I no longer work for Comcast.

Do you have the account enabled in Mail or some other client on any device using POP3?  If so, it may be downloading the emails and then deleting them from the server.

@Latoque

My Apple Mail program is set up the same way it has been for a couple of decades, and it just stopped working correctly a couple of months ago. I can't find an appropriate or effective way to fix the problem.

Turns out that I had somehow had it sorted to show "unread" first, so as soon as I clicked on it, it became "read" and got shifted down to the read mail....  It was there, just buried.  Thanks!

...and it turns out that I had somehow turned the filter ON, and when I turned it OFF, all my mail reappeared.

The fact that mail was disappearing while I was reading it was NOT a clue that the filter was on, so I suspected the source of the problem was the provider not the mail client.
