camera does not blink after reset?

I am adding a new outside camera to my APP.

The cameras LED is solid and does not blink (to show pairing).

I have disconnected power and waited 30 seconds.  LED stays solid.

I have pressed the reset on back of camera and the LED goes out.

If I recycle power again the LED goes back to solid white?

Still no blinking?

Any Suggestions?

Hey there, @3922Diana, thanks for reaching out through Xfinity Forums regarding your camera concerns. I rely on my outside cameras while I am out of my home, so I understand the importance to ensure that everything is up and running.  Here is a link with some troubleshooting steps, https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/camera-troubleshooting. Have you tried any of these steps already?

Yes, I have tried all of the reset instructions on your website.

The camera still has a solid LED.

The LED should be blinking for pairing.

I have paired a few other cameras so I know my system is working.

Should the reset button on the camera power assembly be pushed also?

Good morning @3922Diana, you can perform a full reset of the camera by holding the reset button on the back of the camera for about thirty seconds. Once you have completed this step, give the camera a few minutes to initialize, and you should see the blinking light indicating the camera is ready to pair.

I have done that but the LED does not blink?  That was my original question.

Good question — when the LED stays solid instead of blinking, it usually means the camera isn’t actually going into pairing mode. A few things you can try:

  1. Hold the reset button longer – Make sure you’re pressing and holding it for a full 10–15 seconds until the light flashes or you hear a tone. A quick press often just restarts the camera instead of resetting it.

  2. Check the power source – If the camera isn’t getting steady power (like from an extension cord or splitter), it may not reset properly. Try plugging it directly into a working outlet if possible.

  3. Confirm LED behavior in the manual – Some models use different colors (solid vs blinking, white vs blue) for different modes. Solid white could mean it’s already connected to WiFi or waiting for a connection in a different way.

  4. Factory reset vs soft reset – Some cameras have both. A factory reset often requires holding the button until the light blinks rapidly, not just until it goes out.

If none of that gets it blinking, it could be that the camera firmware is stuck. In that case, deleting the camera from your app (if it shows up at all), then resetting again and re-adding is the next step.

Do you know which model you’re working with?
