Free Unlimited for Veterans

Figured this would be better here. I received an email of the new benefits for Veterans. One of the benefits is Free unlimited for a year. I am already bundled with TV, Internet, voice, and cellular. When I went to the store no one knew anything about it, only add a line and get 1 line free for a year. I need assistance changing from my current plan to the Free Unlimited for a Year plan.

Thank you.

Resolved after receiving a phone call from the Executive Resolution Team after sending an email to the Veteran’s Department I talked to previously. Now was that so hard?

teachsac Hi there! Thanks for taking the time to reach out to us today. Are you referring to unlimited data on your residential internet, or your xfinity mobile lines?

Thanks for verifying that for us, teachsac! First and foremost, thank you for your service! Having a look into this information, I was able to find this Military Service Benefits page. It looks like you might need to go through xfinity.com/military to get things started. If you have any issues with this we may need to look further into this for you.

@XfinityMichaelC My account is already Verified. I have already applied for the gift card (14-16 weeks to receive is ridiculous), been moved to Diamond. Now I need someone to change my mobile plan to the free unlimited for a year. I have TV, Internet, voice, and mobile.

@XfinityBenjaminM I tried chat. They were as useless as the store the other day. They only tried to get me to add 2 lines and get a watch. That is NOT the Veteran/Military Benefit. That is why I would like to talk to someone who knows what is going on.

No. I am not going to mark this resolved because it hasn't. I had called CS twice and contacted chat twice. I have been met with nothing but uninformed and incompetent representatives. I come here and no one has offered any help. If this is how you treat veterans and diamond customers who have been with you a very long time, perhaps it's time to find someone who does. It cannot be that hard to change my account from by the gig to unlimited so I can take advantage of the Veterans' Benefit of a free year of unlimited mobile.

I have to agree with teachsac on this whole chat. I have experienced, almost word for word, the exact same things. And with that, have become so frustrated and disgusted at these "empty", non-existant Xfinity military benefits that I've basically just given up on ever hoping to receive them. Lots of promises that do not ever actually materialize.

Thank you for reaching out to us @user_ysupm9! We are thankful for your service and regret to hear you experienced the same issues with receiving this military benefit.

The 1-year free Xfinity Mobile Unlimited line applies when a verified military customer adds a new line of service to their Xfinity Mobile account. Just to confirm, were you experiencing this issue when attempting to sign up for a new Xfinity Mobile line?

Hello, I had just added a new unlimited line to my already 3 line unlimited account. I received no benefit or free line or was even told about this benefit. I found out about it myself when searching for something else through Xfinity. When I followed up on it to take advantage of this offer I was told that I had to add yet another line to my account, which I have absolutely no need for. I was met with the same issues as teachsac encountered. I finally gave up.

Yes, numerous times. Obvious fix, right? No, wrong. I was verbally danced around in circles by every agent I "chatted" with, disconnected from chat "by accident" and had to start all over again with new agent,  lied to, had promises made to me, and when all is done, I'm still here, messaging with you about not getting the promised military benefit that I doubt ever existed.

Well l was finally able to update myself after it was downgraded to the 1 gig plan. I’m sure I’ll bring calling back when the benefit doesn’t kick in automatically. I have completely lost faith in Xfinity after all of my accounts have been messed up and nothing gets fixed.

@teachsac I feel you.  I just got [Edited: Language] on by Xfinity yet again on a different subject matter.  I did get my Veteran $180 gift card, however.  Took me complaining and escalating my concerns but after several days and enough eyes, it got resolved.  Wish me luck on my current situation.

@teachsac - I still have not received my $180 gift card. You're lucky, I've given up. What I did get however, was a 4th "free" mobile line added on to my plan. Unfortunately it is anything but free.  I'm simply paying for yet another unlimited line and a phone that I didn't need or actually want. So, you're not alone. You're just $180 richer than I  am.

Hello user_ysupm9, we definitely love our military community, and thank you for your service. You can view all of our exclusive military offers using this Hyperlink. Was your gift card related to a military promotion as well? I'd love a chance to help on all of your concerns.

Wow. Yes, I've explained in great detail the military benefits I have been confirmed for, already applied for, signed up for with the understanding that they were "real" and I have not received the $180 and I am being charged for the "free" 4th line I added to my unlimited plan! So, NO, I'm not getting any of the promised benefits either. And b4 you ask me again, Yes, I am a confirmed veteran with Xfinity Internet, Cable, and Mobile service, all in good standing.

Still not getting my free year. Just got done with chat AGAIN saying I have to add another line. If this is the way veteran’s are treated, Comcast mobile is nowhere near the best deal.

  • A $180 Visa Gift Card for new and existing Military customers that can be applied to their choice of Xfinity services (equivalent to $15 a month per year).
  • One free Xfinity Mobile line for a year (a $480 value – requires subscription to Xfinity Internet Service).
  • Automatic upgrade to become an Xfinity Diamond Rewards member (which is normally reserved for customers who have been with Xfinity for 14+ years) as a part of the Xfinity Rewards program. Enrollment in the program is free and Diamond benefits include:
    • Free Peacock Premium (a $60 annual value), with access to 80,000+ hours of the best in TV, including the latest hits from NBC & Bravo, hundreds of hit movies like Oppenheimer, The Holdovers, and Trolls, plus LIVE sports including Sunday Night Football and Premier League.
    • Access to great entertainment with $1 movie nights, exclusive tickets to premiere movie events, exclusive streaming events with NBCU talent, and more.
    • A wide variety of digital discounts to sites like the NBC Store and Bravo.com, tickets to local sporting events, giveaways, gift cards, sweepstakes, and more.
  • The military community can also continue to enjoy unique streaming experiences, specially priced park tickets, vacation packages, and discounted resort stays at Universal Destinations & Experiences.
  • We will continue to update details at www.xfinity.com/military and our military community should be on the look out for even more offerings in the future.

Some reason my post was removed and my post earlier marked as private?  Nothing is in violation of forum rules. Sent an email to the Veteran’s Office I talked to previously about this matter. He had the Executive Resolution Office call me directly. Handled quite easily.

Edited? Why, so once again people like me trying to find out about "invisible" military benefits are still totally in the dark? For example, I signed up for that "xtra" free mobile line when it was offered as a military benefit,  I had a 3 line plan so now I have a 4th line and it is in no way free. I signed up several weeks ago and have not received any discount whatsoever. I did not honestly need 4 lines either.  I only signed up for it because I was mislead by the military "offer". All those other "Rewards Program" benefits you say are top tier, I believe I was getting pretty much all of those already as a low level (3 year) member. Only the Peacock subscription is a new award for me. So, other than feeling anger about having an extra line to pay for now  I believe the "Military Rewards" you speak of are absolutely fictional in real life.

(I see my above message nor the one after it have been responded to either. Where are all the magic benefits and answers now??)

@user_ysupm9 adding an extra line for free is something they are offering everyone. No way special to veteran’s. The original offer was a free line of mobile if you have internet. I have no need for more than my line.

  • One free Xfinity Mobile line for a year (a $480 value – requires subscription to Xfinity Internet Service).
