Root Sports being dropped from Popular TV package

Thanks for nothing Xfinity!  Forcing us to upgrade just to watch our local baseball team and other local sports.  Leaving you after 20 years.  Hello Fubo.

They move them to higher tiers because too FEW people watch them. All media contracts are expensive, and some require some channels at basic or similar tiers. Those that are not restricted get pushed to higher tiers. It's not Comcast being greedy, it's Disney (ESPN is over $9 per subscriber) and others DEMANDING their channels be in lower tiers.

They should move trash that has garbage reality shows like MTV and TLC to more expensive package. Absolute trash on those channels

This is absolutely unacceptable and must be reversed put the channel back in the other lineup, it needs to be in more than one plan, this is the problem. And the solution is to reverse the stupid decision that should never have been done in the first place. We’ve been customers with you guys for over 20 years. Change. It. Back.

There is literally nothing good about this. There absolutely needs to be a cheaper plan that has RootSports

@Echolight​ [Edited: "Solicitation"]  I've enjoyed Xfinity for over 25 years.  I hated the fact that every year I had to put "Call Xfinity and beg for a lower rate" on my calendar-- just to be sure the automatic package increase didn't cost me.  But the fact they moved Root Sports to their Premium level and then TOLD US they were saving us money was the last straw.  I am really enjoying the 'a la carte' options of streaming tv, including no commercials and ready access to the local stations I appreciate for news, sports, etc.  And I get a cloud storage of 1000 hours of recordings.  Good luck.

Unbelievable and in no way does this helps build the reginal fan base for M's, Kraken, Blazers. I can't believe they didn't lobby against this move unless they are greedy like Comcast or have no say. Bad call Comcast...shameful to charge more for an already overpriced service :(

I was just on the phone w customer service and got told this horrible news.  They took a huge local sports network away and didn’t reduce my bill and wants me to pay 600 bucks more per year to get this station.  Xfinity your fees are way to high and this is unacceptable.  I’ll take my business elsewhere

We absorb a large portion of these cost increases and are doing our best to manage them while still giving you the best value we can. While this change won’t cause the prices to go down on existing packages, it will help limit future increases in your bill.

Well you definitely charge enough to pay root sports to carry their channel. So use the  thousands of dollars I've given you over the last 30yrs and pay them. Also, I'm paying for the sports package, so I expect to get the sports channels.
