MLB Extra Innings problems
Hi, Comcast/Xfinity. As others have posted, MLB Extra Innings has had problems since (for me, at least) April 28, 2022. The guide has been inaccurate or, worse, doesn’t display a game that is airing. Recording a game has been an exercise in frustration and creative profanity because setting a recording or a series recording has been almost impossible with the guide not working. I thought I could work around the guide issue by setting a 3019 channel recording for a specific time range, but it only recorded for a few minutes before the recording halted, presumably because the MLB Extra Innings guide wasn’t displaying a game the recording could identify. Two weeks ago I set up a Yankees series recording on ch 3019 from the guide when it displayed a Yankees game. I verified the recording in ‘scheduled recordings’, but the recording would disappear from scheduled recordings OR it would record on the opposing team’s channel feed (despite specifically setting it up to record ch 3019). I have also experienced the system ignore my extended recording time parameters and simply stop recording in the middle of a game. This recording issue happened twice this week alone, so I missed Shohei Ohtani’s first grand slam in Anaheim stadium, as well as Aaron Judge’s walk-off the following night.
It looks as though the guide is back up and running, so thank you, Comcast, for that. I spent hours and hours trying to figure out why the MLB Extra Innings channels and my recordings had lost their little electronic minds, which is time I won’t get back. I’m curious how many games are being shown on other streaming platforms this season that aren’t being shown on Extra Innings, and if it’s still worth it to have Extra Innings?

To follow up my previous post, the MLB Extra Innings guide seems to be fixed in that it displays games airing and to be aired, but setting up a series recording still doesn’t work right. I set up a series recording from the Yankees channel 3019 to record Yankees live games, extended stop time, press confirm. Then I confirm the recording I’ve just set up by going to my scheduled recordings, and I show that my Yankees series recording is indeed set up to record, but it’s set up to record from the opposing team’s feed. I took photos of the problem. Where should I send them?

I am so tired of hearing tech support telling me that engineers are working on the problem and that my account has been credited. And, so far, nothing. Not problem solved. No credits applied. I want to record all Yankees games with one click. That IS an option according to the screen and something I've done successfully in years past. But, now, Xfinity is only recording the opposing team's broadcast; not the Yankees broadcast I've set up to record. This is nuts. I haven't spoken to one person at Xfinity who appears to even understand the problem, much yet solve it. One more time...If I click to record all Yankees games, the system will record the specific broadcast based on the alphabetical order of the team. If the NEW YORK Yankees are playing the BOSTON Red Sox, the Red Sox broadcast will be recorded. If The NEW YORK Yankees are playing the TAMPA BAY Rays, the Yankees broadcast will be recorded. As I'm typing this I'm realizing this isn't nuts, it's COMPLETELY nuts.

Yep, yep, and yep! Same issues as described above. Ridiculous, to say the least, and a ripoff-MLB XI. Patience is a virtue, but come on, Xfinity! When will these issues be resolved, or a credit issued?? Recorded today’s Cub’s game on CH 3005, then verified recording in Scheduled Recordings-all good. Nope, sat down this evening to watch with Dechais & Sciambi announcing, but game was recorded on Red Sox Ch. These announcers aren’t bad, but for us, Marquee announcers are part of the package.

I've given up on even trying to get Xfinity to understand the problem. I just get up every morning - it's become routine now - and set CH 3019 (Yankees) to record the game. I can guarantee getting the Yankees announcers by clicking on "Just This Game" rather than "All Games" during the set-up process. Why this happens? I don't know. One tip to offer. In order to be certain I record the entire game, I not only extend the recording time by one and a half hours (max allowed) during the recording set-up, but I also set to record the show that comes on after the game broadcast. I'm not in front of my TV now. I think that before and after the games there's a generic "MLB Extra Innings" program. I set it for four or five hours. This may seem like overkill but, at worst, if the game runs long I get to see the end. At best, if there's a lengthy rain delay, I'll still get to see the entire game. Good luck. And, again, for those of you who root for a team like the Cubs (letter "C") you should get all the Cubs broadcasts as long as they're not playing a team like the Red Sox (letter "B") or the Braves (letter "A") who, alphabetically, come before "Chicago".

I’m having the same problem this season for 3019, it will not serial record for 3019, it defers to the lower channel number depending on the opponent. I’ve been dealing with it but love to know if there was a fix. I’m also having spotty reception the past two days ….

The last two days I can’t get my MLB extra innings channels to work. Sometimes it says channel is temporarily unavailable. Other times the game comes on for a minute that the screen goes black again.

I have been trying to explain that my MLB EXTRA INNINGS has been glitching in and out for the past 2 days…all Xfinity does is “checks my feed”. It’s obviously a bigger problem then just my box 🙄

They told me that it is just a problem with MLB extra innings and not Comcast. All of my other channels work fine.

I'm out of town so I haven't experienced the problems you're describing but I can tell you that in all my conversations with Comcast/Xfinity about similar issues earlier in the season, the representatives with whom I spoke hardly knew what MLB Extra Innings was, much less be able to diagnose a problem.

Started out fine today, but now my Orioles/Yankees game is starting to glich out again....i'm just gonna sign on to mlb.tv and watch that way. Comcast and Extra Innings needs to fix this, or i'm gonna want the rest of my money back. It was perfectly fine before the all star break....what [Edited: "Language"] changed?

My attempts to set up a series recording for Yankees games on channel 3019 continue to be thwarted; the series recordings of Yankees games I set up for channel 3019 (the Yankees feed) end up recording from the channel/feed of the opposing team.
To be fair, there was about a week in mid June when I gave the series set-up another shot, and it worked! For a few days. Then my series recording defaulted to the opposing team’s feed.
I am able to successfully set up a single game recording that ‘holds’ the Yankees feed, but that doesn’t help me if I’m away from my tv.
I will be asking for a credit because it’s teeth-grindingly annoying to have dealt with this all season.
