chicago sports network

I'd like to know why Comcast is making it so difficult to access the new Chicago Sports Network . I realize the details need to be worked out, but does Comcast have to place CHSN on its highest tier thereby making viewing only for the well-heeled few with the bucks to be able to afford yet another extra cost in an already very expensive  situation. I realize there is the option of OTA viewing but why do we have to shell out extra money when the cable is already there? I think comcast is just being stubborn and greedy. Come on. get real. Do you care or not?

If CHSN is on the mid tier (like NBCCHI was), all subscribers are assessed a regional sports fee, just like Marquis.  I, as a mid tier, am forced to pay regional sports fee for  Cubs/Marquis which I never watch.  I think this is a common gripe vs Xfinity.  I say put CHSN and Marquis both on highest tier and let those who want it pay for it.  Blackhawks are small percentage sports fan and I as a fan of Blackhawks is willing pay for it on top tier and not ding all the mid tier people.

user_zutxq0 Here is the most recent up to date information https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/nbcsportschicago in regards to the NBC Sports Chicago ceasing operations. It wil not be available on any cable provider.

@XfinityShawn do you guys even read what users are saying? You just auto respond telling everyone what they know that NBC sports Chicago is gone

the whole point of this thread is that People are complaining how your greedy company wants the Chicago Sports  network on the highest tier and you guys haven’t even offered a credit for the regional sports broadcast fee.  Cubs aren’t playing and you aren’t showing the Bulls or Blackhawks game.

Give us Chicago Sports Network now or prepare to lose my customer support.

I disagree with the OP here. I had the Bulls and Blackhawks and Sox on the "mid-tier". If they go away permanently, the odds of me remaining a Comcast customer go WAAAAAAAAAAAY down. I'm quite certain I am not alone. In fact, I might already be gone if CHSN had worked out all their OTA agreements and gone OTA in more than just 3 of the 13 promised markets, as I cannot get them OTA yet. But being forced to pay for a higher tier than I already am for the same thing I had -- not happening. Definitely leaving in that case.

All Comcast is interested in is lining their pockets!

The Blackhawks home opener is tomorrow. If we miss this and it’s up and running for the Bulls that’s [Edited: "Language"]. Trying to put it on the top tier just to make more money from your customers that I’ve already been loyal to you is ridiculous. Get this figured out.

I have the mid tier plan as well and pay an extra $10 per month to get RedZone, NHL, NBA, and MLB Networks...at a minimum they should include CHSN in this add on option.  Let's go Xfinity.  We're paying enough already!

@user_55kbse  The problem is, for all we know, that is what Comcast is willing to do - but whoever owns CHSN realizes that it can't make nearly as much money from Comcast that way, and may be demanding that it be put on the lowest non-basic tier. Remember, we're not dealing with one greedy organization, but two of them, and neither is about to give us any details of what they want (other than "we are asking for a fair deal, and the other side is not budging on its unreasonable demands").

I agree..........as a longtime comcast customer, I URGE you to come to terms and have the new sports channel at the same tier as NBC Sports Chicago was........that is what is fair

If not, refund that portion of the regional sports fee the customers are continuing to pay for.

I’ve had Comcast since it was Metrovision and they bought them  in Blue Island. I worked for Xfinity for 9 years and was laid off and I’m still loyal. Close to 40 years of years including growing up at my parents. To have to come home tonight and watch the Bull highlights on YouTube is mind blowing to me. The thought of switching makes me itch Comcast or Xfinity, whichever you prefer. Figure this one out man.

I left Comcast as a Sox fan when they forced us to pay for Marquis.  I don't watch the Cubs.  I barely have time to watch sports and when I do I go to a bar.  The biggest cost in the bills are the sports.  People that don't watch sports start cancelling years ago which is why the bills keep going up.  They need to make it an add on for those that want it.  The Sports teams are against that because the cost would be too high.

I'm paying a lot of money every month and now I can't watch the Bulls. This is [Edited: "Language"]. I'm [Edited: "Language"]. Make the deal xfinity or risk losing a lot of business

Agree 100%. Funny our bill isn't even being reduced after failing to offer this popular programming which we had previously! This is some weird power play that the paying customer is being steamrolled over (or should I say under).

user_fmlhhx thank you for using the Community Forums page to reach out to us today. Being without my favorite sports teams would be a bummer, so I understand where you are coming from after the recent change of teams being covered on the new Chicago Sports Network. Hopefully we are able to get this channel added in the future for customers in the area, but in the meantime I would be happy to look into assisting you with package options to help address your billing related concerns.

@user_fmlhhx right! How do they get away with removing channels but keeping bills the same. I’m over it!

Actively looking to replace XFinity TV for just this reason.  Shame as I love the rest of XFinity TV.

[Edited: "Solicitation"].  Love XFinity but have to have the Hawks and Bulls games.  Will come back to XFinity if they get CHSN. [Edited: "Solicitation"].

With CHSN's new direct-to-consumer platform available for $30/month shouldn't I be getting more than $8.95 off my bill?

JK. Since all of these teams are currently terrible, I'm fine with letting the cable company make these teams sit and spin, since that's what those teams are asking the fans to do right now with their "quality" product.  Want me to complain to Xfinity?  Stop putting out a garbage product.  Then I'll be interested in paying to watch games one way or another.

Let's settle this already Comcast. Make this a midtier channel and accessible for all Chicagoans. The bulls, blackhawks and Sox fans want to view the games already. This is ridiculous at this point. Make a deal already!

We have missed all the Bulls games because of this [Edited: Language]. We can’t even watch on League Pass. I have never in my life seen such nonsense. Let me guess the big wigs at Comcast don’t watch sports or something.

Wait until they do the same thing with Marquee (Cubs) in March. I am only sticking around now because I can watch the Bulls (inconveniently)

in 1 small room in my house with an antenna.  Cubs will absolutely be the last straw  for the $371 a month I pay.
