Chicago Sports Network

When will Xfinity add Chicago Sports Network (CHSN) to their channel lineup? I have been a Comcast customer for over 30 years primarily for sports broadcasts. If I cannot watch local broadcasts of Blackhawk and Bulls games then it is time to cut the cord and find a new TV channel provider!

So CHSN is available over the air and via stream on DirecTV stream. Comcast wants to put CHSN on their Premium tier for some reason is the rumor. In all reality Comcast just needs to put it on their base plan with your locals since its a "local" station then add a even higher charge to the local broadcast fee. Don't be shocked somehow comcast puts it on the Premium tier and slaps some obnoxious Regional Sports Fee. Eitherway Comcast is gonna charge you more for it.

CHSN will end up on Comcast at some point, its just a matter of who blinks or who does the right thing.

The best way Comcast can respond to just let us have the channel and let those who don’t want to pay the higher local sports fee go back to over the air tv.

I wrote to complain and the arrogant response was, "There are a lot of other great sports on Xfinity that are available."

Disconnected from the customer base and no empathy.

Antennas aren't working for me, so I am consigned to the radio.

Comcast, you can count me amongst those you are going to lose over this.

I contacted the director of customer services and entertainment and they gave me the same response. I don’t want other programming. I want to watch the Bulls and Blackhawks!

I just happened upon it also.  Hoping it’s not for just this game. I’ve been saying it’s time to cut the cord. Now is the time. I don’t care if they get the deal done. If direct tv does not have marquee I’ll pay for it. To much money for a badly run cable!!

So angry that you have not worked something out with CHSN by now. I have been a loyal customer for many years. Main reason I have kept my plan is because of the sports network being included. Preseason has started and other providers have worked out deals with CHSN.  If this doesn’t get resolved I will be looking for a new provider.

I agree with this comment. Comcast always takes programs away, never adds any and always finds a way to raise prices. JUST A GREEDY COMPANY. Put this new station in your lowest tear offering  or you can count me out of your service.

I am SO angry Comcast. We have paid DECADES to Comcast so that we can watch local sports. We are in our 70’s now. Do you know how much effort and PRIORITY it takes to set aside money to pay our bill each month?  You will make it impossible for us to continue paying for our cable bill should you make the cost out of reach. SHAME ON YOU!  Please get this situation rectified in a fair manner for the masses. Living in our fourth quarter of our life, and I speak for many, we deserve better!!!

As I think further does not really matter what comcast does. They are too expensive now and if they get Chi Sports and put it in highest tier I will not be able to afford it anyway. Am retired on a fixed income and I guess cable not for me anymore. Spending $4000 a year for tv entertainment out of my range. Sure there are many this does not matter to but also plenty like me who it does. Too bad, it used to be a good company. Will be finding some other option(s). Guess dealing with comcast distasteful at this point.

Another regular season game, another MISS by this bloated company.  S390/MONTH FOR CABLE & 2 PHONES AND NO BULLS!  GIVE ME A BREAK!!

I have Xfinity cable for ONE REASON: HOMETOWN SPORTS!! We're done after the next billing cycle. I already pay for the sports package, and missing out on........sports, kind of defeats the purpose. YouTube & HULU sports, I'm on my way!!!

The answers on here are simply canned responses (read as [Edited: "Language"]).  Between the outages/bad connectivity of late, just another reason to move on from these guys. There will be a lot of mobile phone deals upcoming, so no worries about the 'bundle' of multiple xfinity services being slightly cheaper.

Show the local sports team or lose, just like a lot of our local sports teams.

This is absurd, I heard Comcast has not made a deal in NY for three years with the local regional sports network and in Denver, it’s been FIVE YEARS!  Comcast, make a deal, Chicago is a huge sports town, one of the biggest markets in the country, figure out a way to make a deal, fans are frustrated and shouldn’t have to suffer because you can’t reach a carriage deal with new sports network.  We are waiting, the season has started for the Bulls and Blackhawks, we are impatiently waiting!!! What’s the holdup?

Get the deal done comcast, your customers including myself send you lots of money each month. How can you be charging me for this still? You offer no programing for the Bulls, Blackhawks and White Sox. Stop playing games get the deal done ASAP! I expect a refund for the lack of a RSN that I am paying for, maybe a class action lawsuit for this stealing of our money will be necessary for you to settle this nonsense. Get CHSN on the network now or expect to lose.

Xfinity needs to show some respect to their customers. I’ve been a Comcast/Xfinity subscriber for over 35 years! I can’t believe a deal cannot be negotiated with CHSN. Get a deal done already! Hope I get a refund on my account for each passing day I can’t get CHSN thru Xfinity, without paying more fees thru an upgrade package! My bill is already $315 a month!

Not happy that I just payed my Xfinity bill for the month and the regional sports fee remains the same even though I no longer get the Bulls, Blackhawks, and Sox because xfinity cant make a deal to carry it.  This is beyond comical that you can't provide regional sports content that most customers only subscribe to your lousy service for.  I hope this is the final nail in your bogus company's coffin.  Beyond disappointing, I will plan to cut the cable in a few days.  I've been on the fence about it for a few years, but you have finally made it an easy decision to make.

Agree 100%!!!!  [Edited: "Personal Information"]

Below is my email to Comcast.  I tried to stay professional.  By the way, you have to sign it with full name & phone.  I did not mind, as I wanted to hear back from them.  I did get a call back.  I think we all need to let them know our dissatisfaction!!!!!

Dear Comcast Leadership Team,

I hope this message finds you well. My name is _____________, and I am a long-time Comcast customer residing in the Chicago area. I am writing to express my strong interest in having Comcast include the Chicago Regional Sports Networks (RSNs) in its channel lineup at a reasonable cost.

My husband and I have paid for Comcast for decades.  We are in our seventies and strategically budget the cost of cable TV in our monthly bills.  Currently we cannot watch our Chicago Bulls or Blackhawks because Comcast will not negotiate with Chicago RSN.

As a passionate sports fan, I greatly value the ability to watch local sports teams and events. The Chicago RSNs provide comprehensive coverage of our beloved teams, including the Chicago Bulls, Blackhawks, Cubs, and White Sox. These networks are an essential part of our community, bringing fans closer to the action and fostering a sense of local pride.

Currently, the absence of these networks in Comcast’s offerings has been a significant inconvenience for many sports enthusiasts in our region. We miss out on live games, in-depth analysis, and exclusive content that are crucial for staying connected with our teams. Including the Chicago RSNs in your channel lineup would not only enhance the viewing experience for countless customers but also demonstrate Comcast’s commitment to serving the needs and interests of its subscribers.

I kindly request that you consider negotiating with the Chicago RSNs to bring their valuable programming to Comcast customers in our area. Your attention to this matter would be greatly appreciated by many loyal customers who rely on Comcast for their entertainment needs.

Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to a positive response and hope to see the Chicago RSNs available on Comcast soon.

How is it possible that an agreement hasn’t been made? I pay 230 a month for tv, internet and league pass, but had to purchase a digital antenna to watch my local bulls game.
