Access to Paramount+ with Paramount+ with SHOWTIME?

Hello,

I have a plan that includes Paramount+ with Showtime:

X1 Premier Pro - Triple Play Includes Digital Preferred, Max, MGM+,Paramount+ with SHOWTIME, etc

When I try to access Paramount+ through the TV/box it asks me to login.  Thus my question, does the "Paramount+ with SHOWTIME" mean I get just that one channel (825) vs access to the actual Paramount+ streaming service?

Thanks

Hey there, @Jeffrey_T, thanks for reaching out through Xfinity Forums regarding your Paramount+ with Showtime subscription. Paramount+ is a separate streaming app and is not included with Paramount+ with Showtime. Showtime recently changed its name to Paramount+with Showtime. This service will still provide you with all the awesome content you were getting with Showtime before just under the new name. If you are interested in the streaming platform Paramount+ you would need to enroll separately. Let us know if this helps or what additional questions you have.

Do you not think this is misleading? It's not Paramount+ at all, it's still just Showtime. Sure feels like it's time to rethink cable altogether when these packages make it sound like you are getting more than you really are.

I have this same question and don't understand the Xfinity reply.  It sounds like you're saying that my double play included subscription to "PARAMOUNT+ with Showtime" does NOT include Paramount+????  It's in the actual name of the subscription!!!!  This is the most blatant example of bait and switch I've ever seen.  Is it even legal for Xfinity to do this?

Hey there, grouch92! Thank you so much for taking the time to reach out to us here on the Xfinity Forums. I do apologize for the confusion, and we will certainly document the feedback on our end.

Paramount + with Showtime is the content that used to be Showtime before the merger with some additional Paramount plus original programming such as Halo. The content that is available is located in the On Demand section on your X1 set-top box under the section titled Paramount + with Showtime. The content provider chooses the programming we're allowed to show under that branded name.

Currently, we are not a TV partners that have access to Paramount + App without a subscription. Here is a list of TV providers who do currently access, you can check the list in the future to see if Xfinity is added. From experience, I've seen we do send out notifications when updates like these happen as well.

@XfinityJeniece There should be a clear explanation when we purchase this plan.  It is misleading and infuriating. Xfinity hasn't made any adjustments to clear up the confusion on the website or bill.

Poeple have been posting for months about the confusion and time involved trying to solve the problem.

Xfinity confirms that Paramount Plus with Showtime is included with the package that we have - it is in our contract with Xfinity. It is indeed very misleading to show that this streaming service is included include as part of our television package when we cannot even access it. I think Xfinity should either partner with Paramount Plus with Showtime to allow Xfinity subscribers to stream this service or provide subscribers with a monthly rebate for the monthly subscription that is charged by Paramount Plus for this service.

Xfinity support incorrectly instructed me to contact Paramount Plus to change my subscription from Paramount Plus Essential to Paramount Plus with Showtime so that I could stream it using my X1 box. I not only wasted time contacting Xfinity, I then wasted more time contacting Paramount Plus. It is up to Xfinity to get all their ducks in a row and live up to their claim that Paramount Plus with Showtime is available for its subscribers.

I have the same issue - it's on my billing statement - I get it but the paramount app wants to charge me $2.99 per episode of a series I wanted to watch.  I tried chatting with someone to resolve but after 40 minutes of do this and do that I was disconnected.  Hulu live is probably what I'm going to do - just fed up with Xfinity

I just got off live chat with xfinity about the same issue!    I have had showtime with paramount + or paramount + with Showtime (does it really matter which is which???) since I signed up with Xfinity four years ago.   I received no notice from Xfinity about a change in service and have been constantly frustrated trying to get on to Paramount+ recently.  I thought it was a glitch in the internet.  Finally chatted with xfinity about this and was told I had to sign up for Paramount+ separately at a charge of 5.99 extra!   So, are we going to get a break from Xfinity by lowering our monthly cost by 5.99?   We signed up for the plan and you've dropped the channel but kept the price the same.    This is ridiculous (if not misleading verging on illegal.)

I am being charged $12.99 (!!!) A month for Paramount+ with Showtime. And yet I do not have access to the Paramount+ content. When I go to the Paramount+ website I look at plans, the price is the same. this is outrageous.
So what is the point of going through Xfinity if I’m not getting access to the full programming?
It’s no wonder people are cutting cable.

@user_m56qjx here’s the thing: they do allow Paramount+ with Showtime subscribers to link their accounts to their Paramount+ accounts, but not Xfinity customers.

As of right now, the only Paramount+ with Showtime subscribers who can link accounts are those with YouTube TV, Hulu plus live tv, AT+T, Direct Tv.

I don’t know if or when they’ll make it so that Xfinity customers can link their accounts.
