Streaming to PC Suddenly Very Pixilated and Choppy

Starting yesterday streaming to my PC (Windows 10 x64, Intel i7-6700K, 32gb ram, Chrome (Latest Version), Nvidia GTX 980 (latest drivers) with ethernet connection to my router) has been incredibly bad. Every single show has been like this; I've rebooted my Modem / Router and computer multiple times and nothing helps. This has got to be an Xfinity problem?XFinity Bad Stream 2.jpgXFinity Bad Stream 3.jpgXFinity Bad Stream 1.jpg

It's a Chrome/Flash issue, had the same problem last week, they even sent a tech out who told me that there was nothing they could do as my equipment was working and as the issue was only on Chrome, it was not an Xfinity issue.  Have had to switch to Edge to view On Demand videos (Chrome still works on DVR recordings for me).

I'm not 100% sure of that, I was at the end of watching this weeks episode of Bluff City Law which was working way better than the previous show I was trying to watch (9-1-1) and there was a message "Your internet connection is not strong enough to stream uninterrupted video".Comcast Error Croped.jpg

And another question, why is Comcast taking out the pictures of the problems and messages I'm attaching?

Re: Streaming to PC Suddenly Very Pixilated and Choppy

All,

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you are experiencing when attempting to use Xfinity Stream. We are currently investigating a possible bug in Chrome 78 that may be causing this. In the meantime, we recommend trying one of the following workarounds by either:

1. Disable hardware acceleration in Chrome. Settings > Advanced > Use hardware acceleration when available > OFF > restart Chrome.

2. Play the TV GO version of the On Demand item. From the More menu button (… icon), choose Watch Options > choose the TV GO option (usually at the bottom of the list).

Thank you in advance for your patience as we continue to work to resolve this permanently.

Additionally, we recommend that you check to ensure your devices and web browser meets our minimum system requirements needed to use the Xfinity Stream website, found here: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/xfinity-tv-website-requirements

Please note, not all web browsers/devices support the Xfinity Stream website.

Re: Streaming to PC Suddenly Very Pixilated and Choppy

What about the message I got saying "Your internet connection is not string enough to stream uninterrupted videos"? Also I tried calling Comcast and when I told the automated system that I was having internet problems I got an auitomated message saying there was an outage in my area and they would text me when it's fixed? I'm in NJ and we have have at least one bad storm in the last week where power and wires were down in neighboring towns but not really by me, could we have a bad wire at the pole or house that's causing a signal strengh issue?

Another question, among the options you give to fix the problem you mention playing the TV Go version; as I look at that I see that while the On Demand version is 62 minutes the TV Go version is only 43 minutes, why exactly is that?

TVgo channels are direct feeds from the provider network. sometimes they inject ads which will increase total viewing time, sometimes they don't.

I am also having the same problem. Nothing will stream appropriately in Chrome. Everything works fine in Firefox.  I watched a tv series on Sunday November 3, 2019 and everything was fine.

This evening (November 6, 2019) the picture is garbled on everythng I try to watch on my desktop.

It has to be a Chrome issue.

It's happening in Edge, also and others have tried all browsers with the same results.  It doesn't work for me in Chrome and Edge.

Re: Streaming to PC Suddenly Very Pixilated and Choppy

I'm still having all kinds of problems with streaming even using the TVGo version, when it plays it's fine but it stops, sometimes for 3-4 minutes and then starts again.

when you are having the problem try the same exact program on a smart phone/tablet. does it play properly there?
