X1 Recording Conflict
As of about one week ago our X1 dvr has only been able to record two programs at a time. Is this a known problem or service change? I know of at least one other person with the same problem. The X1 FAQ definitly still states that we should be able to record six programs at the same time.

CCAndrew,
We have just the one X1 in the house. Yes that would be just one TV in the whole house. Everything was fine until recently (exactly when is hard to tell because it is not that often that we need to record more than two shows at a time). Around the same time my wife's sister (she also has one box and one TV) began noticing the same problem.

begin playback of a couple of the latest recordings. when the screen menu elements fade away (playback only video on the screen) press the OK button. is DVR or 'cloud icon" + DVR shown in lower left corner of the video?

Rustyben,
With only the recorded video on screen, when I hit OK I get the regular lower screen display.
1st line: channel recorded
2nd line: Program recorded
3rd line: DVR (no cloud icon)
4th line: Program timeline....
I assume the 3rd line is what you are looking for.

could you check the model number of your equipment? easy way is to use the voice remote for each set top box and the "about' command. need the rest of the line to the right of "STB Version". you would normally need a DVR, and XG2 hub (has 3 tuners to loan out freeing up the tuners in your DVR) and 2 xid/xi3 companion set top boxes.

I am having the same problem. Up until a couple weeks ago I could record at least 4 shows at the same time, but now any more than 2 give me the recording conflict error.
Something has changed ( and it's not my cable box)!

We're having the same issue as the folks above. 2-3 weeks ago, we can't record more than two shows at a time.

FWIW, I chatted with Comcast support for 75 minutes. No resolution. They are trying one more thing and then I should call if it doesn't work. 😩
If/when that happens, I'm just going to request a new DVR.

Same issue. I was on the phone with Comcast for over an hour. No help. I got a new DVR box and the same issue. Nothin has changed. I get recording conflicts. Sometimes when I only have one other recording, sometimes when I have two and want a third. Something has changed. If no member has a good aswer, how do we get Xfinity (Comcast) to review at a higher level and fix. This is a relatively new issue (only the last couple weeks) I have 1 DVR and two other remote boxes, but I have had them for years.

I've now doubled my previous chat/phone time to 150 minutes. Nice folks. No help.
I've asked them to look into release version 112.1.1 timestamp 4/21/20 2:42PM in the About screen. I think that time matches up with my recording issues.

So what package did you change to? I modified my package on April 10, but it is still $160.00 and the details say nothing about record limitations.

I have searched xfinity and the internet and no where do I find a package that limits recording other than the normal 5 or 6 recording at a time advertised deending on your box. I think what you were told is incorrect. I believe it is a new software issue as stated earler.

I had the same problem. I changed my package a couple of months back from one that was grandfathered in due to it's age to a newer offering to save money but had no issues until this week. I spoke with Comcast and was informed that my old package included the full DVR service but the new one only came with limited functionality, most notably only recording 2 shows at one time. I added the full DVR service for 10.00 more per month and my conflicts went away. I had to select the ones that had a conflict and hit Record but the conflict disappeared after.
When I asked why the issue hadn't surfaced before now I was told that sometimes changes won't take affect until after an update.

I was told the same thing ($10 DVR Service) today. Added it (and refreshed, unplugged, etc...). I still can't record more than two things at a time.
