Reminders not working

Program reminders not appearing on screen. The list does show up on guide but at time of program reminder does no appear 

Every once & a while the reminder pops up on screen at time of show but its intermittent but most often not working anyone else reporting this issue?

Long-time reminders are working, but daily choices are not showing up an hour later.

Working now after a "System Refresh" by restarting the TV box using this...

Same here.  A day later, still not working right here either. That fix lasted a few short hours.

they are shipping a new box.  I am quarantined so I don't want to go to store but you can take your box to the store & exchange it

Fortunately, I live very close to one of the stores, but it's closed for the crisis.  Maybe I'll order one to be delivered or just wait it out. 

 

The thing is, this box is less than six months old.

I am having the same problem. In fact no reminders are working. I just got the box a few months ago. It seems like this should be something Xfinity should be investigating. Anybody listening?

Ugg. Not encouraging to hear. I'm not versed on this forum. Do yo.know how to get anyone from xfinity involved?  Or situation escalated?  <Edited>

Agreed my reminders for this entire week don’t work. I set them in advance for later that day, they are present in the saved section of my X1 DVR but they don’t trigger as planned.

Seems I'm not the only one... schedule list is there but no reminder works. Restarted system..hard boot...nothing helps..been this way for a week. When I called..just got routed through the automation. Recording said try chatting online..that too is down...Comcast as usual...not providing good service...Yet they want us to pay huge bills! Come on Comcast fix the problem!!

Update: my reminder today that I set over 1 week ago also failed to trigger. Xfinity support needs to fix this issue of reminders no longer working.

I'm having the same problem for about the same time frame. After some 30 years with DirecTV, I switched to Comcast for better service and options. Now I'm just furious!

I'm having the exact same problem, and I rely on them especially now when we're quarantined and down want to channel surf! I reluctantly switched from DirecTV that had not only Reminders, but would actually change the channel for you, in case you turned off the TV. Now I got nothing! Very disappointing! May go back to DirecTV's better options.

Agreed and hopefully this will be fixed in a future release since it also allows for tuning to that channel too.

I'm having the same issue too. When I check the reminders are still set but I don't get the actual reminder. Going to try a system refresh but not confident it will work after reading this forum.

I have also started to see this problem this week.  Set reminder for a future program; shows correctly in my "Scheduled" list; but doesn't actually display the reminder in the middle of my screen at the appropriate day and time.  What's strange is that, in my case, the problem is intermittent, i.e., sometimes it does work and sometimes it doesn't.  I strongly suspect that the problem is some kind of bug in the latest release of the X1 software - for me that is Release 112.02 which is timestamped (for me? for all?) 04/09/20 2:32 PM and is paired with XRE Protocol Version 2.8.0.  Do we all have this same release? [can be viewed via "Settings" then "About"].

I have also been having this problem this week.  Set program reminder; shows up in my "Scheduled" list correctly; but does not display the actual reminder in the middle of my screen on the appropriate day and time.  However, my problem is intermittent, i.e., sometimes the reminder does show, sometimes it doesn't.  Seems like this may be a bug in the latest X1 software.  My current Release is 112.02 with a Release Time Stamp of 04/09/20 2:32 PM and an XRE Protocol of 2.8.0.  Do any of you have the same release? [check "Settings" and then "About"]

I’m running 110.1.2 with release date of 3/6/20. XRE protocol is 2.8.0
Receiver Native Version is 4.0.0
STB Timestamp is Tue 04 Feb 2020

Well your software release is earlier, but we have the same XRE protocol and Receiver Native Version.  My STB Time Stamp (13 Feb 2020) is more recent than yours, but since I wasn't having any reminder issues until this past week, I doubt that the STB (whatever that is - Set Top Box ??) is implicated in this issue.  Unfortunately, I don't know what X1 release I had prior to my current one so maybe my set up skipped your current release?  Also, I noticed you have a DVR set up, which I don't, which may or may not have anything to do with which X1 release you have or with this "reminders not working" issue.

Agreed I was using that March release originally without any reminder issue until the last two weeks so it must be some other update that caused the reminder functionality to break. You are correct that I have the X1 4K DVR. Set top Box.

I am having the same problem. They seem to work intermittently. I use them all the time and this is extremely annoying. I have restarted the box several times and maybe only the first or second one displays even though they all appear in the list of reminders. I miss our old DVR and guide display. Worked perfectly and essy to navigate. We had to replace it because it was starting to make noise. So far I hate the x1 box and which that I could have been a beta tester. It seems to be very buggy. It does not save my guide preferences and you cannot view the guide vertically by pressing the guide button twice like the older system. I was told the earlier DVRs are no longer available.

same issue here. The reminders are in the scheduled list but don't actually show up on the screen at the time.

Good catch my "about" information is 4/9/2020 too with same data. That's the date this all started. Must be a software glitch. Do you know how to get a comcast /zfinity tech involved in this thread?  customer service technical availability is extremely limited these days due to covid19 restrictions. On phone the customer service could only follow the "scripted " diagnosis tree & wound up sending me a new x1 box (haven't gotten it yet) I seriously doubt it will correct this. But its easy & free so i'll try it. Btw this exact thing happened in 2018 & it was a software glitch. their technical dept took awhile to fix it.

l called Comcast customer service today, described the issue, and referred them to this community forum topic/thread.  The CSR promised to send the reference/issue up to the higher level(s) of support so that, hopefully, someone in their software development group can address it and fix it.  It may take a while, but I have my fingers crossed 🙂

I'm having the same problem. Reminders work sometimes but most of the time they do not. Xfinity needs to do an update to fix this problem.

Same here! I noticed the reminders stopped working yesterday but it could have definitely been longer than that.

I have the same problem even after two unscheduled reboots in the middle of the night last night. The first was TV only around 1:30 AM. The other reset TV and Internet around 2:30 AM. Normally updates occur between 3 and 4 AM which did not occur.

Reminders not working for me either as of 4/7/20.  We are able to set them but they never pop up and prompt us.  We set 3 differnent ones to see if it was a channel issue and none of them triggered.  So we then set a few more, went back to make sure the Reminder Option held and it did, but again, it never prompted us.

I performed a System Refresh, Restart and still no reminders. Called Xfinity technical support. After 15 minutes or so the problem could not be resolved. In Settings (Saved) the scheduled reminders are there. Also in settings under Preferences then Notification all is ON. The call ended with no solution or reason. Could it be a programming issue that was pushed out during one of the daily system updates?

Yes, I, and others, think a recent X1 software update has a bug.  See my first post to this thread earlier:

I’ve had the problem for over a week. I just called Comcast & the rep said it was my tv’s problem. (2 tv’s!) she told me to call my tv manufacturers !

Same here.  I have 4 reminders set every day and none of them work.  My xFinity1 refreshes daily but the reminders haven't worked for about a week now.

IS ANYONE FROM THE TECHNICAL DEPARTMENT READING THIS THREAD? THERE ARE OVER 40 SEPERATE CUSTOMERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. @mike8020 do you know how to get technical people to acknowledge this issue? I'm not sure how to escalate this complaint to the proper channels 

IT DOESN'T SEEM LIKE ANYONE FROM XFINITY IS SEEING THIS THREAD.

Our X1 engineering team has asked if you are able to provide/post some specifics around the reminders you have set - what shows and programs? That information will help tremendously in tracking down this issue.

i have multiple reminders set several daily & several "series" reminders. They do show in the guide under the scheduled reminders section. However at the time of the individual show the reminder does not pop up on screen this started around 4/9/2020 or so. I should note that every person responding to the "reminders not working" reports the identical issue leading us to believe its a software glitch. Customer service sent me a new box (a wild guess of the person's part) but since so many have the same issue I doubt it will help. The person tagged has been gathering information since this started too & somewhere in this long thread he listed the "about" software date. If you csn read through the thread you'll find much more information  @Mike2020 can you add anything?

@hifi459  Thanks for this information, can you please provide the names of some of the programs so that the team can attempt to reproduce using the same conditions. None of the posts in this thread have that information. Thanks much!
