Exact same thing happening to me today. Xfinity TV Remote doesn’t recognize my cable box/dvr so I can’t use it as a remote.

Tried that along with signing out/in, removing/reinstalling of the app and turning off/on my phone. Seeing other posts here and app reviews in the Apple App Store from yesterday, it seems to be a bug from Xfinity.

Same thing happening with me.  Started a few days ago.  Seems like this happened a few months back and it wasn't a quick fix.  Hope it's not the case this time.
