Flex: Netflix app keeps crashing and requires Flex to be restarted

I got the Flex 4K Streaming Device this week, and I'm impressed.  It's actually pretty awesome.

But, the Netflix app is buggy.  Sometimes it won't launch properly, either going to a black screen or giving an error.  Other times, it will launch but will crash within an hour.  When that happens and I try to restart the app, it'll either go to black screen or an error message.

In any of those cases, restarting the Flex will allow the Netflix app to launch properly again.  Restarting just the Netflix App from the Help menu does NOT resolve the issue.  It must be the Flex that is restarted.

I also use the YouTube and Prime apps, which haven't had any problems like this.  I can launch those right after Netflix gives an error, and they work fine.

This is really annoying, to the point I might go back to streaming on the PS3.  What's the fix?

I'm having this same problem and it's beyond annoying. Is there a permanent fix?

Nearly 2 months later, and it still does the same thing.

I don't know if this is a Flex issue or a Netflex issue, but the two do not get along.

Is there a solution for this?

Mine cannot find the Netflix servers, so it's a no go. Other channels work.

It's working now!

Last night, I opened Netflix for the first time in 2 weeks.  Oddly, it required me to re-enter my email and password, as if the app had been reset (which I had NOT done).  It worked perfectly.  And this morning, the app was still running without having crashed overnight.  I switched to another app and then back to Netflix.  Again, worked perfect, like never before.

I didn't do anything or change anything on my end.  So, it must've been a Flex or Netflix update.  Fingers crossed that it stays operational.

If you're still having issues, maybe this time reloading the Netflix app will actually solve it, if they did indeed update their code or something.  Good luck.

I'm having this same issue but it is with the netflix app and the prime app. And also it will crash about every 5-10 mins. This is so incredibly annoying! How do I fix this?

My Flex unit is doing the same thing you've described where the screen goes blank after a few minutes.  Did you find a solution?

Same problem--happens every time we stream anything on Netflix.

At least you can use your FLEX.

I was having the same issue on my 5G network. I tried switching to the regular network and it worked.
