One of my little Pace cable TV boxes needs re-activation any time it is off power for more than about 2 minutes. I guess when I am rearranging things I am supposed to chase it with an extension cord. Not sure if that is a hardware issue or what.
For some reason I am unable to do this reactivation myself from the website or the app. It does absolutely nothing. So each time I must spend 20 minutes on the phone with them to get them to reactivate.
Here is a further clue. I have three boxes. If I go online and try to reset the one that needs activation, as I stated nothing happens. But if I try to reset one of the other boxes...nothing happens there either. The cable TV continues to play. I would expect a brief disruption. My conclusion was that my boxes aren't being addressed. When I asked them (over the phone) to check if the correct serial numbers are registered they said that they are. And indeed they can reset the bad box. But for some reason the web account does not seem to be "seeing" my boxes; the trouble shooting page can't tell me the boxes are even online.
That would explain why I can't reset it myself. But not why I must do so in the first place.
