Changing from standard definition to HD on one TV
ANSWERED (Thanks!): I want to upgrade one of my three non-HD TV Boxes to an HD box. The two other boxes can stay standard definition.
How much will it cost? (And how much extra for a HD-DVR TV box)
Can I just go to a Comcast store and swap the boxes?
I can't seem to find out how to do tis online and a phone call to Comcast involved a salesperson who wanted us to add more services that we did not want.

Unless you have a package that includes HD, you will have to pay an extra "HD Technology Fee", which is typically $9.99. That covers ALL devices on that account, so you could upgrade others if you want with no extra charge.

@andyross Do you happen to know if I can just bring in the old standard definition boxes into an Xfinity retail location and ask them to accept the old ones and give me the new ones (and add the $9.99 monthly fee)? Do I need to make an appointment or can I just show up?

I think some sites take appointments. You can check online. It's also good to check which ones are open during this pandemic.

If you have issues with it not working right, you can start at and drill down through state and town.
