Can't turn on tv when cable box is on!

Since a tech visited me a while ago I have had trouble with my tv not turning on separately from my cable box. Anyone else? He had to perform a manual upgrade to my box b/c the over-the-wire upgrade wouldn't work for my setup and ever since then I have had this problem.

And before anyone asks, the cable remote is NOT setup for the tv set (tried and didn't work). All other settings are unchanged and everything is still setup the same. I'm just frustrated as all get out and the chat function on XFinity was USELESS!

Any help would be appreciated.

Could have to do with a fudged job by the tech, or the fact that the remote has two on buttons (i.e. TV on and All on), but it could just be the cable box itself...

I would recommend getting Xfinity out to fix it, or if you're a DIY-er you could check wire connections and the remote.

Also, could be down to the outlet that these devices are plugged into...
