I have been using a cablecard with a Panasonic plasma tv for 15 years (yes, I know). Sometime over the past month it stopped receiving hd channels. I get audio, but no video. I had a Comcast tech out and she was here 2 minutes looked at the tv and said "we don't do cablecards". I got a new cablecard from an Xfinity store, but after installing and initializing I received no channels at all. I know this is old technology, but I would like to get it working without moving to a Comcast box. Thanks,
Unfortrunately your TV cannot decode MP4 video and never will. Same happened to my cablecard DVR - it can still decode the HD OTA channels but the HD premium channels are long gone.
Seems you will have to be OK with SD versions of the non-OTA channels, and/or or upgrade to a newer cablecard device inbetween the wall and TV, and/or rent a modern settop box.
Thanks for your response. I have been receiving non-premium HD channels and it suddenly stopped a month or 2 ago. I'm trying to figure out how to receive these channels again. Any thoughts on this? Thanks,
