Cable box problems

This problem w/ my cable box has been going on for a while now. Here's what you need to know:

 

-The blue light on my cable box blinks 3 times, stays solid for a few seconds and then repeats.

-As this is going on, I'm stuck on one channel. I cannot change channels or access the guide. 

-On rare occasions, the cable box responds properly and changes channels, albeit very slowly.

-Occasionally, the "we're having trouble connecting to the internet" message pops up.

 

Could there be something wrong with the box?

 

(Should note that the TV audio and video are running as if normal. My internet connection is not affected by this either. Only my TV cable box.)

Something else that’s needed to know.... the model. Guessing an XG2 but what you describe are signal issues

I have no clue what model it is. 

If it's indeed signal issues, what can I do to resolve this?

 

EDIT: It is an X1 model.
