CBS All Access app freezing every 7 seconds

I'm new to Xfinity, and have the Flex box. I've watched Netflix shows with no problem, but the CBS All Access app keeps pausing very briefly about every 7 seconds. It's more of an annoyance than anything, but is there something I can do about it? I assume it's this app in particular, since Netflix worked beautifully, although I've only tried the 2 so far. (The only other one I'll be trying at all is Prime. Those are the 3 I subscribe to.)

I'm seeing this same behavior. My Xfinity Flex is connected via Ethernet and I have only seen this streaming issue with CBS All Access on my Flex; other devices I own can stream CBS All Access fine. I find the constant micro pauses unwatchable. I'm disappointed this has been going on for weeks.

It’s so frustrating because the two companies blame each other. Xfinity support says I have to talk to CBS; CBS says I have to talk to Xfinity. The occasional support tech tells me to buy a firestick. But I’m paying for Xfinity and I was going to pay for CBS (but I gave up & canceled it); why should I have to pay even more to bypass a service I supposedly already have (Flex)? And who knows if that will work or if I’ll be out more money? Most of the techs said I should just watch it on my phone or laptop. I’m sorry, I don’t want to watch Star Trek on a laptop, and certainly not on my phone. And my roommate wants to watch too - so we crowd around my iPhone? Geez.

I know the techs on support can only do so much. As the one friendly guy I reached (at Xfinity) said, the relationship is new, and they just don’t have enough to go on yet. Here’s hoping someone will figure this out!

My smart TV is 5 years old, which is too old for the CBS All Access app.

I’m just not a goid consumer, am I? I should be tossing TVs in the landfill every 2 years, I suppose, and buying every little gadget so I can pay for the same service 6 different ways, right? 😂

Oh, but you’ve shared some good info for any techs who might stumble across this.

So, between the two of us,
1. I have identified that on Flex, it is ONLY the CBS AA app that hhas a pproblem.
2. You have identified that out of your devices, it is only Flex that can’t play the CBS AA app.

It would seem to obe an issue with how the two interface, then.

CBS All Access app exits every few minutes. I read that people have had issues with CBS all access on Roku as well. Other apps have been working fine on my flex. Also I just started using Flex so I don't think there is any cashe issues with mine.

I wanted to add my experience to this. The CBSAA app freeze also turns the screen black for 1-2 seconds. It’s not constant, but consistent when it happens. It only happens on the Flex box. When I watch it using a TiVO Stream 4k there’s no issue. I’ve tried swapping Ethernet cables to the Flex, that didn’t help. Next I’ll try the hdmi cable, but I don’t expect that to help either.

Try different volume "settings" on your TV. OR entering the * symbol- this happened to me on my Roku TV when I added Prime- but it was an Audio lag- still huge problem for all users. But Netflix and others were OK.
There are often some weird fixes for this stuff.
Need to get the perfect tech support guy. Try some online forums! Good luck!
