Why have you locked out separate 2.4, 5, 6 wifi control? Please return that.

In a nutshell, please return control back to the user through the web interface and phone APP to turn on/off AND NAME each 2.4, 5 and 6ghz WiFi home network. I don't mind the option to blend them all but seriously? Who future thought this at all? You've made it impossible to set-up millions of 2.4ghz dependant devices easily without buying a different wifi device which is totally unnecessary.

If there is a sure-fire way to do this, please let us all know cause nothing works as claimed on any searches.

They recently updated the gateway's firmware. You may now have to turn on the admin tool access first in the Xfinity App;

https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/admin-tool-access

Open the Xfinity App. (You'll need a working connection for this step;

Go to the WiFi tab.

Select View WiFi equipment and open Advanced Settings.

Select Admin Tool online access.

Slide the toggle button to Allow Admin Tool access (ON).

Select Save.

Then visit http://10.0.0.1 while connected to your WiFi at home.
Username: admin
Password: Check the sticker on the bottom of your Xfinity WiFi Gateway.

I already am logged in as Admin and already setup like this and logging into the router is where the issue is. No way to change names of each band and no way to unband them all. Bridge Mode is greyed out.

They've disabled that in the gateway's admin tool now. You must use the app. See if any of this even works anymore (YMMV);

To separate your 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi bands, open the Xfinity app, tap the WiFi tab, select WiFi details, tap Edit WiFi settings, and toggle the Split Bands option on. You can then assign unique names and passwords to each band. [1, 2, 3]
Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Open the Xfinity app on your mobile device and sign in.
  2. Tap the WiFi tab at the bottom of your screen.
  3. Select WiFi details (or View WiFi equipment, depending on your app version).
  4. Choose Edit WiFi settings.
  5. Toggle or check the box for Split Bands.
  6. Rename your 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks so you can tell them apart (e.g., adding "-2.4" or "-5" to the end of your original Wi-Fi name).
  7. Save your settings. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Important Considerations Before Starting
  • Remove Extenders: If you use Xfinity Pods (Wi-Fi extenders), this option will be disabled. You must unplug or deactivate the pods in the app first. [1, 2, 3]
  • Reconnecting Devices: Since your bands will have different names, you will need to manually reconnect your devices (like your phone or computer) to the appropriate network. [1]
  • Smart Home Devices: Many smart home appliances, security cameras, and smart plugs only work on the 2.4 GHz band.

Good luck !

So assuming Xfinity support reads these, you should fix this.

Assuming they don't read these, they should lol.
