Upgrade to XB-7T

I will be upgrading my Router to the new XB-7T this weekend.

1. Will I have to go through and manually reconnect all 20+ of my IoT?  Like my home security hub via Xfinity, Amazon and Google assistants, echo dots, Google hubs, Wi-Fi cameras?

2. How can I save my current configurations and import them into my new faster XB-7T device?

3. Cameras are all on 2.4 GHz network, all other device on 5Ghz, and I would like to keep them separate.  Each has different names and passwords.  I do not want to have to recreate all that.

Thank you

Hi there! We have gone ahead and provided answers to the questions you have asked below. We hope it helps clear things up. Please let us know if you need additional assistance! Thanks!

1. Will I have to go through and manually reconnect all 20+ of my IoT?  Like my home security hub via Xfinity, Amazon and Google assistants, echo dots, Google hubs, Wi-Fi cameras?

-Since you are getting a new modem this means your devices will no longer recognize the old network. You will need to reconnect all of your devices to the new network.

2. How can I save my current configurations and import them into my new faster XB-7T device?

Your configurations will also need to be reset manually.

3. Cameras are all on 2.4 GHz network, all other device on 5Ghz, and I would like to keep them separate.  Each has different names and passwords.  I do not want to have to recreate all that.

Since this is a new device you will need to recreate the name and passwords to reconnect those devices.

So you don’t specifically what router you have now, but if it’s rented xfinity gateway, there is a easy option

Since this is a modem that is not provided by Xfinity, we have limited access. What exactly were you trying to achieve?

I have not upgraded yet, so any ideas would be great. Xfinity is focused on new customers, nothing for existing customers like me. Plug and pray.

Yes a rented voice-modem-router rented from Xfinity.  Just to be clear.
