Can I just rename my new Xfi gateway to what was my old modem/router name and password. Can it be that simple.  Or does the install Gateway app, transfer my old settings?

I was responding to the question asked by jlavaseur So you don’t specifically what router you have now, but if it’s rented xfinity gateway, there is a easy option. I have 42 connected devices throughout my house, mix of Apple Devices, G

I have not upgraded yet, so any ideas would be great. Xfinity is focused on new customers, nothing for existing customers like me. Plug and pray.
