Turning off Public Hotspot Fails ("Something has gone wrong, please try again later.")
Using this approach: https://customer.xfinity.com/#/settings/security/hotspot
Just results in the message "Something has gone wrong, please try again later."
I just got this new gateway hardware last week. I'm assuming it in fact has the hotspot. One shows up in the wifi list (xfinitiwifi), but I'm in a city where there's dozens of other Comcast users next to me, so I am not sure if it's from me or not.
It is the exact same problem as https://forums.xfinity.com/t5/Your-Home-Network/I-can-t-turn-off-the-wifi-hotspot/m-p/3289519 but it's a month later. Is Comcast trying to force us to use their hotspots again? They specifically told me I would be able to turn it off. I should have to waste time calling a human to do this.

Check the list when you're right beside the gateway. If it doesn't have full signal strength, your gateway isn't the problem.
If you're seeing full strength on the hotspot, unplug the gateway and check it again. If the signal doesn't change, your gateway isn't the problem.
There are also lots of wifi sniffer apps available - you can use one and check it against your gateway's specs.
