Sudden harsh lag spikes as of only recently- Been with Xfinity for 10 months now- Help?
Hello,
I've been using Xfinity internet since December of 2024 and it's been just about smooth sailing from then until only a few days or so ago- The occasional speed drops on desktop, but since I'm using it wirelessly, that's to be expected. However, as of only the latter stages of September 2025, when partaking in gaming and calling over apps like Discord especially I'd find the occasional massive lock-up in connection. These typically persist for upwards of a few seconds before dying down, but have been growing rather plentiful in frequency as time has progressed. I'm especially concerned that it's persistent now, since a part of me assumed nearing the end of my month (and by extension, coming close to my allocated data usage) was partially the cause.
I'm using the standard white XFi router and reside in Justice, Illinois, for reference.
Any assistance in diagnosing the issue or finding a culprit in the matter would be much appreciated.

Greetings @locura53, thank you for taking the time to create an official post. This is not as a result of your data usage, we do not throttle internet speeds for any reason. It sounds like there may be some technical issues at hand. We certainly want to get you back to your norm, so you can get back to enjoying those joyful discord calls and gaming sessions Have you taken a moment to look over the post that @EG shared?
