Issue with Bridge Mode

I upgraded my modem to an Xfinity xFi (XB7-T) internet/voice service about 6 weeks ago. The modem is in Bridge Mode and connected to my router. All worked perfectly, until yesterday afternoon. Suddenly, I had no internet connection coming to my router. I’ve tried power cycling both devices, restarting the xFi box using the Xfinity app, tried different ethernet cables and tried a different router. None of this corrected the problem. If I disable Bridge Mode on the xFi modem I can get internet service, both ethernet cable and Wi-Fi. My voice service works as it should, both in Bridge Mode and with Bridge Mode turned off. Is it possible that a hardware issue with the xFi box is causing my problem with Bridge Mode?

Hello and Happy Sunday, ! I hope you’re having a great weekend so far! I also appreciate you taking a moment out of your day to reach out to us on our Community Forums! You’ve reached the best place and perfect person to help with virtually all of your account needs! Going forward, I'm truly sorry to hear about the recent connection issues you're having with your separate router while in bridge mode with the XB7 as I know this can be frustrating to say the least! To confirm, do you know if there were any recent firmware updates that took place with the router itself? Also, as far as connection dropouts go, do you know if they are related to both IPv4 and IPv6 packets? Thanks sincerely again for all your time and patience today!

Joey - Thank you for the response. I was finally able to resolve the problem a little bit ago.  After trying a few more things, there seemed to be no issue with the XB7 or the router. They just wouldn't work correctly together. So, on a whim, I tried a 3rd ethernet cable (connecting the XB7 to the router) and all started working as it should! Turns out that the 2nd ethernet cable that I had tried a couple of days ago was also defective. No more cheap cable from Walmart for me! Thanks again Joey.

Ah, that's perfect! I'm glad to hear it's working properly for you now and that you had another ethernet cable to try out. I always keep a crazy amount of spare cables just in case lol. While I have you here, did you have any other questions regarding your account? Are you enjoying your internet speed?

I no longer work for Comcast.
