Is this normal? Speeds start at 2GB then drop to 1.5gb

Link to the speedtest i did that shows how speeds drop. Note: Im using wired conection with a Cat 8 ethernet using the 2.5gb ports for both endpoints. https://imgur.com/a/4ntj7V7

I have the gigabitX2 plan and speeds are perfectly good for upload but download i never get a consistant 2GB. I currenltly using just the XB8 Gateway. Is this a gateway limitation or something else?

Hello, u/IvanG thank you for reaching out over Xfinity Forums for support. I appreciate the link to view the speed test, that is helpful. When connecting with an Ethernet cord, you should be able to get the full download capabilities as long as the device you're using can support the speed. From experience, I've worked with customers who let me know that security software sometimes has background info running that can limit speeds, so always advise customers I work with to check that as well as any other Apps/programs that may be running in the background.

Another good thing to check our your equipment signals to see how they match up to the optimal signals, there are also other tips to get the most of your home network here: https://forums.xfinity.com/conversations/your-home-network/connection-troubleshooting-tips/602da777c5375f08cdea3db9

Please let me know if this was helpful with getting the full 2 Gig download, I can start troubleshooting if needed.

@XfinityJustinC Hi thanks for the suggestions, i ended up fixing the problem. My PC NIC for some reason was causing the slowdowns as shown in the speed test. I have updated it to a newer version and has fixed the problem.
