internet search function on home page has stopped working

The internet search function on the Xfinity home page has stopped working today. What has changed?

The current "SEARCH" [Edited: "Language"]. Too many generic search responses...

I'm not finding a response yet. We called in for Tech Support. Hopefully they will get back to us.

@user_mt3cwa​ If the current "Tech Support" is as responsive. as previous experiences, don't count on it.

Instead, Xfifinty will do the following:

   -not respond, if they do, it will be a boiler plate response

   -tell us that they don't see, or have any issues

   -tell YOU (and US) we are doing something wrong

   -tell us it isn't then, but us it is our OS and devices

   -tell us they are looking at the issue

   -threaten to kick you off of this Forum for not "following their directions/instructions", or being a "bully", or just for asking a "tech" question directly.

   -tell us they are still working on the issue

   -quietly fix the issue, possibly pull back an "enhancement" upgrade, and not say anything

@njc12 Thanks for the update. Have you tried to clear your cache and cookies then tested again?

I'm using macOS 15.0.1 and safari 18.0.1, and I'm having same problem.  This also happens on my iPhone using 18.0.1.

I am having the same problem since yesterday 10-24-2024. I called for tech support and they couldn't help. They Said Contana was blocking my search.........

I don't know what Cotana is, but I'm willing to blame they pushed out an enhancement/upgrade without fully testing. I know it is affecting Apple products, I don't know about Windows and other platforms.

@user_19a135​ I do think it was a self inflicted Xfinity issue. As I posted previously, as per their M.O., Xfinity quietly "fixed" the issue, and moved on... Another example of "Quality Customer Service".
