Full packet loss/lag every 30 minutes or so
Hello,
ever since I was forced to move to Xfinity (only fast connection to my building :/ ), I have been experiencing full packet loss for like 10-20 seconds, every 30 minutes or so. This is seriously interrupting online gaming to a point where I can't play competitive anymore. I experience it on all devices, but the one that matters is directly wired connection to the router through an ethernet cable.
From what I've seen on the forums, I'm not the only person experiencing this, and I've tried most solutions:
- Full reset
- New cables
- Different applications
- Different security settings
- Flushing internet
I don't know what else to do, I'm just browsing all providers all the time, hoping another fast connection becomes available, because if this doesn't get solved I'm very done

From timing it seems to align with the Event Log "Missing Required Option 82" and "Missing Required Option 24"

Accidentally pasted the power levels and SNR in the comment above

I also tried calling by the way, but the customer support is not helpful at all.

This may or may not be the root cause of the problem (YMMV) but it should be addressed regardless.
The downstream power is too high. It may be over-driving the front-end receiver circuit of the modem. That can cause random disconnects, spontaneous re-booting of the modem, speed, packet loss, latency problems, and the un-bonding of channels.
Is there a drop amplifier on the coax cable line leading to the modem ? If so, try removing / bypassing it and see. If not, you can try installing a -6 dB forward path-only attenuator pad such as this one on the coax port on the rear of the modem to knock that power level down and see;

It won't affect the upstream power level which is within spec. Good luck !

@machiels Quite welcome !
Please post back with how things go. One attenuator (only 6 dB) may not be enough. You may need to use two of them piggybacked together for a 12 dB reduction in power. Or as stated, it/they may not help at all. YMMV.

Update:
I have been chatting with the Xfinity team in a PM (where I had to repeat a lot of stuff in here), and they finally sent over a tech last Friday.
The tech was great, he replaced plugs, some things behind the wall, and the modem. Over the weekend I have not noticed any lags or loss at all, so it looks like it was one of those things.
edit:
Adding on, @EG the attenuator you suggested was not one that works with the setup, the tech mentioned, just fyi. I do appreciate your help a lot!
