Disconnecting from a Server randomly. Tracert timeout on hop to comcast node on route to server

So I'm having problems staying connected to a server 162.220.15.158 (dcs world multiplayer server to be exact) I keep getting random discsonnect error with ping timeout within 20 mins of playing in the server or 2 hours. upon further investigation i ran multiple tracert to the address and hop 8 8 * 12 ms * be-39911-cs01.9greatoaks.ca.ibone.comcast.net [68.86.93.241] times out but the hops continue until it reaches the server. The tracert doesn't always have a hop timingout probibly every 2-3 times i have to run the command until it finally has a hop timesout but its always the same node. My ping to the server is pretty low and its located in Los Angeles and Im in norther Cali. The traceroute information is attached as well as ping -t ran on the ip address as well. Can anyone at comcast help me out here?

ReKLiS thank you so much for stopping in for help with your connection disconnecting from this server. It would be frustrating to get booted when in the middle of a game, so thank you for reaching out so we can help get this corrected for you. There are a few things that can impact your connection, as you mentioned. Some quick ones you can check on your end, if you have Local Firewall/Antivirus set up, you can see if temporarily disabling that helps.

Next, you can see if this happens around the same time each day; if so, that may be due to network congestion on our end, and we can take a look for you.
Are you by chance using a standalone router connected to your modem? If so, do you have the same issue if you are connected directly to your modem?

Thank you for the information @ReKLiS. When you are disconnected from the server, do you fully lose internet connection, or is it just the game itself that loses connection?

when i get disconnected from the server i get the following error connection timed out. Server Ping Timeout and i just lose connection to the server and my internet is fine. My ping to the server is around 20-30 and this is the ping -t results to the server

Ping statistics for 162.220.15.158:
    Packets: Sent = 2399, Received = 2304, Lost = 95 (3% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 16ms, Maximum = 44ms, Average = 17ms

I've also ran tracert to the server and im getting timedout on hop 8 during the route to the server from the following hop 8    11 ms     *        *     be-39911-cs01.9greatoaks.ca.ibone.comcast.net [68.86.93.241] but it completes its route without any further timeouts but its not consistant sometimes it goes through all the hops without being timed out. Usually every other tracert attempt

... [68.86.93.241] times out but the hops continue until it reaches the server ...

Please post the complete trace from your equipment to the target. It isn't really possible to determine if a single router is causing problems without seeing what is happening before and after that point in the trace.

Thanks for that information, and happy to hear everything else is working with your connection. Are you using a VPN to connect?

I appreciate those details. Have you tried switching out your Ethernet cable to see if that helps?

We can take a look at your connection on our end to see if there are any issues. If you can please send us a Direct Message with your full name and your full address.

To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support:

Click "Sign In" if necessary

Click the "Direct Messaging" icon or https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging

Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there

- As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list

- An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line

Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

Press Enter to send it.
