Are possible malicious devices connecting to my internet?

Recently I have been hacked so I may be paranoid but I’ve just set up a new motem after switching out my old one for security concerns and I was met my 6 devices instantly joining my network. 5 of them being “CMTX6-22TestPC9” brand being CTDI and model being CMTX and the last device being called DAV-REPAIR-38 the brand being generic brand and the model being windows device. I’ve already set up a appoint, for someone to come out but should I be concerned about this? Are these malicious devices? How should I proceed?

@John484097 Hello and good afternoon. Thanks for adding to the community. We appreciate it, and are happy you thought of us to assist. We have the best tools, just like the Xfinity Assistant. It is the best resource to manage the account and service online when we are not available. It is my favorite as I can check the service health, and also reboot the wifi for dinner time. That ensures the kids come to eat, and that makes me very happy. Here is a link that I found for you to make it easy to use https://www.xfinity.com/xfinityassistant/. It is strange to see unknown devices, and I see why you would be concerned. The best way to prevent unwanted devices on your network, is to update the password. If those devices jump back on, they are either yours, or being allowed by an infected device in the home. Ensure you have a clean network with an updated password, and ensure your devices are free from any malware. When is your appointment?

@XfinityBenny I’ve had the appointment today, the employee didn’t really know much about the topic and just said to change my password. My only question is that I got a new router/modem and just connected it not connecting to any other devices with my new password change. At that point I didn’t even change even connect the WiFi on my phone yet instantly I was met with the 6 afformentioned devices connecting to my network. And none of them were recongnizable to devices previously connected as they were not computers or phones rather looked like a router icon. So I’m a little confused on what devices I should replace since I’ve gotten a brand new phone due to this concern. Is it possible something was able to connect just because it was in proximity. Thank you for your response.

Thanks for confirming, John484097. Did you change your Wi-Fi password or do you know if your in-home Network had a password set up on it? I would be happy to take a look at your connection on our end.

@XfinityBenny Sorry for the late response, I’ve been able to access the admin page but have now came upon a new issue. When I first connected my iPhone it recognized it on the Xfinity app as my name and device and showed all the proper information. I’ve just reconnected to my internet and saw that my device, the one with my name and everything was last connected 3 hours ago. But I’m connected to the internet as just under “iPhone” with the device type being “misc device” and it has a different MAC address. Confused on what this could mean.

Thank you for the update, and we are happy to work on this to make sure we help. Is this only the device that is reflecting the incorrect information or do you have other ones as well? We are here to help and appreciate you giving our team a chance.

FWIW, that part could be due to the MAC address randomization feature that the iphones have. Look in its settings to see if it's enabled.
