Concern moved here to the Customer Service help section for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.

Hi there! This is a great question! Right now, our xFi Pods don’t support 6GHz (WiFi 6E) — they’re designed to extend coverage for 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. While we don’t have an official release date for 6GHz-capable Pods just yet, we know how important it is to stay up to speed (literally), especially with more devices using newer WiFi standards.

The good news is our team’s always working on updates and new hardware, so it’s definitely on the radar. In the meantime, if you’re using one of our latest xFi Gateways (like the XB8), you’ll still get access to 6GHz directly from the gateway itself — no Pod needed for that band.

@XfinityAirelle Xfinity pods are made by Plume. They currently have the 6MHZ pods. However, it requires a subscription.

Do you know if I buy their pod and activate it on the Xfinity network, will I still need the subscription?

Thanks

Great question, while we would not know the details of Plume, I can tell you unless the Xfi pod is purchased from Xfinity you would subject to that particular companies subscriptions. It would be considered a 3rd party product and not from Xfinity.
