Using Amazon fire tv and another fire stick nbc not available

NBC is showing an error code of “ we’ve got a location issue. Unfortunately, we cannot play this video within this market “ I have deleted the app and reinstalled still getting the same message.

Do you happen to know what show, movie, or event was being displayed when you were attempting to access the NBC channel?

I have tried numerous times over the last few days.  Was working fine on Thursday and then stopped?

The FireStick NBC app is still working for streaming local NBC.  Just inconvenient to switch between apps to switch channels.

@irish91 was this a sporting event? 

 

In the Xfinity Stream app, if you encounter a blacked-out event, it may be due to expanded blackout regions set by the network. You will see an error message indicating that you are in a blacked-out area and cannot tune in. If the stream has ended, the message will state that the stream is unavailable. To avoid being locked out, it's advisable to exit the stream and try again later. For more details on blackout restrictions, you can refer to the Xfinity support articles on sports blackouts .

I am aware of the issues with various sporting events and blackouts.

The Today show was the first show I tried to watch.

This appears to be an issue with the Stream app.  Occurs both on the FireTV app and the iOS app.  The NBC app works on both platforms, so not a hardware issue.

Hi there. Since the same location error appears on both Fire TV devices after reinstalling the app, this may be related to how your home network location is being recognized rather than the devices themselves.

 

Please make sure both devices are connected to your private home WiFi network, not “xfinitywifi,” a mobile hotspot, or a VPN. Then restart your Xfinity gateway and both Fire TV devices. Also, can you confirm whether this happens in the Xfinity Stream app or the NBC app, and whether NBC works on another device connected to the same home network?
