Terrible quality xfinity stream
I watching live tv in the xfinity stream web browser, it has always been decent hd quality but the last 3 weeks or so its been terrible non hd quality. The issue is not on my end, I've tried all possible fixes, are other experiencing this?
Thanks

November 28, 2021 - Update
If I use foxsports.com or paramountplus.com the streaming quality is perfect. If I use xfinity.com/stream/ the quality is horrendous. To me, it is obvious that Xfinity is being limited by Fox and CBS so that people sign up for their services. This has nothing to do with network bandwidth on Xfinity's network. It is the reason that Xfinity is not fixing it is that they can't. It is probably a contractual agreement in order for Xfinity to carry Fox and CBS at a given price.

Having same problem in Columbiana oh. Terrible pic and cuts out nonstop til you just turn it off. This is through 2 different Roku's. Everything else we stream is perfect so it is not our internet.

I have this issue too. Just adding myself to the mountain of complaints on this thread.

Keeps freezing on my Android and Roku apps. This used to work good. Using latest version in play store. Judging from all the complaints using web, roku, ios, android it's more than likely a backend issue. It baffles my mind that this issue can last so long. Imagine if netflix or prime had a 2 month issue. There would be a revolt! Comcast should have to answer to congress for their sub par service.

Heavy pixilation for 2nd week in a row on NFL Redzone. It's unwatchable and and I pay extra for it. Suggestions?

Bumping this thread again. Over THREE MONTHS now and still no resloution, but I have complained so much and called out the employee's contradictory information with regularity that they no longer respond to me. The video quality over the website is unacceptable, barely 480p, but more regularly 240p. It has not improved in the slightest. Some employees say its a known issue, some say there was never an issue, and some say its a user issue, which makes it seem like all of them are just lying through their teeth about an obvious intentional downgrade in service to force you on to other paid methods of consumption. The Roku app is slightly better than the website, but still terrible and with constant buffering.

I guess I will jump on the pile, although what I am experiencing is a little different. I can only watch Xfinity Stream with low video playback quality selected. If I choose auto or high quality I get a garbled green screen. I have tested this on multiple computers with Chrome, Edge, Firefox....and even Opera. Roku is fine, android app is fine. Speed tests are fine 900/20. If I choose auto quality the picture starts to sharpen up and looks good for about 3 seconds then turns to a green screen with garbled pixels on the top. Setting the quality back to low will eventually restore the picture though it is poor quality.

streaming in a web browser looks terrible. i can watch a 3rd party stream that looks better than it does in the comcast official app. absolutely ridiculous. Maybe they can take more government handouts to improve their network, implement data caps during a pandemic, and raise their prices again.

Same issue on our LG smart TV. Slow, glitching and channel lineup problems. Sometimes the favorites don't all show up. What's a better TV streaming app??? Not dealing with Xfinity anymore.

I find it hard to believe that a kid in Ireland can create a streaming site that is fantastic, but a team of engineers at a huge multi-national company who we pay hundreds of dollars every month cannot. Is there a fix yet? I can barely see what's going on using a web browser to stream.
Additionally, the 'search' function has to be the worst thing I've ever seen. I try to watch 'FS1' so, I type in 'F-S-1' only for no results to be found. Instead I have to type in 'Fox Sports 1', which is a pain when almost every channel has some coded cheat phrase that must be entered to get the channel to pop up in the search. I'm looking for other providers because this is a far inferior product to other services on the market.

My HD quality is not the concern but I have excessive skipping. Aprroximately every 15 seconds I have a 2 second skip. Not always but most of the time and especially during live events like news and sports.
From my iPad I don’t have the same issue.

Since around October of 2021, my xfinity steaming has been absolutely atrocious. Steaming has been coming in at around 480p. Sometime this week, something changed. I am now getting my streaming at 720P. Not perfect, but at least it is now watchable. Of course I am paying for 1080p streaming. I wonder if anyone else's who has been having these steaming issues have also seen a recent improvement.

I've been trying the free weekend streams on a computer and the quality of the so called "high" quality is garbage. It's slightly ok if the lighting in the scene is bright but as soon as the brightness dims you see massive compression artifacts all over the image.
