My Tubi app via the Xfinity X1 cable box is horrendously slow. Why?

The Xfinity streaming app for Tubi is so egregiously slow that it’s almost unusable. A single remote command on the app can take upwards of 20+ seconds, which is beyond ridiculous. I restarted my cable box and cleared my user data via the Xfinity settings to no avail.

I have used Tubi at four different family members’ homes in Florida, North Carolina, and Maine and their remote commands respond instantaneously while using the app. The common denominator between them is that they’re not Comcast/Xfinity subscribers, which leads one to a simple conclusion: Xfinity third party streaming is being throttled intentionally, thusly, I am currently looking for a new ISP unless there is an immediate fix. DO NOT tell me to check for loose connections or power strip usage. This is not a leaky faucet or a clogged toilet.

Are you seeing this issue with other apps through the cable box? Have you power cycled the cable box from the power plug?

I unplugged my cable box and waited 15 minutes. I turned off my television and waited a small period of time as well. I cleared my user cache via the Xfinity settings on my TV. I talked with a support specialist via online chat. They even zapped my cable connection and disconnected me via their server. Nothing has worked. I find it odd that the paid subscriptions that I have used work just fine but the free streaming apps work extremely slow or not at all.

Thank you for sharing all the steps you have taken. We can troubleshoot further with you or the box can be swapped out as there may be something wrong. We have not heard of any issues with the streaming apps being slow.
