Audio But No Video Streaming Xfinity From Mac Browser

XFINITY REPS: PLEASE READ MY COMPLETE MESSAGE BEFORE RESPONDING.

While streaming Xfinity on a Mac through a web browser, I am unable to get any video, whether I am viewing live programming or recorded programming. Audio plays but no video.

This problem just started last week; I have been streaming successfully for years with no problems. No changes made to my system in that time period. And all other video streaming websites work just fine.

Streaming via web browser does still work on my Windows PC.

PLEASE NOTE THAT I AM NOT USING AN MOBILE APP. I AM STREAMING VIA A WEB BROWSER.

I am using a Mac Mini running MacOS 13.0. The browsers I have tried are Safari, Chrome, and Firefox. None of the browsers will display video while streaming Xfinity content, though audio does play. This is the address I use: https://www.xfinity.com/stream.

All browsers are up to date, as is my OS. I have restarted my computer, reinstalled the browsers, cleared caches and cookies, logged in and out of my Xfinity account, tried Incognito mode, restarted my wifi network, connected via ethernet, verified permissions, and run other maintenance scripts. No luck.

Many other users have reported this issue in 2022, and there are quite a few support threads related to this problem. HOWEVER, although no one has confirmed an actual solution, most of the threads have been “closed.” Here are some threads from 2022:

I would greatly appreciate if Xfinity could recognize that this is a bug and fix it.

Thanks.

Um. The video just went out on Firefox. And it still doesn't work on Safari or Chrome. I manually restarted the modem; no change. So I'm back where I started. Let me know if you have any other ideas. Thanks.

GRRR...okay, let's try and get this fixed for you. I'm starting to think that maybe this is a UserID issue. Have you tried on a different device?

Yes, I am able to stream Xfinity content on a separate Mac on the same network, using Chrome. Safari, for some reason, won't even connect to xfinity.com.

No, it's a safari/chrome/firefox issue on my Mac Mini; no browser will play on the Mini.

On the Imac, only one browser, Chrome, works; so the iMac has a safari/firefox issue.

Both computers are on the same network, with the same OS, current version.

Also, Xfinity streaming works just fine on iPad and iPhone on the same network using the xFinity Stream app.
